customer service rocks!
I don't like leaving a review until I've used a product for awhile and the design flaws and other problems have a chance to show themselves. How a company responds is so important. I did have a problem (more later) and it was quickly and efficiently resolved. I have been using this unit about once per week for 8 months.First - the product usability - I am not a great cook, nor do I care. I want simple, straight forward recipes, with ingredients I recognize, and if it has more than 5 ingredients (including salt and pepper) my eyes glaze over. So, obviously, I haven't tried most (any?) of the recipes that came with the unit. I bought this because of the Covid lock down. We were missing our weekly burger night at our favorite restaurant. It works great! My burgers on the outdoor grill come out like hockey pucks, but the Ninja ones are perfect! Easy, juicy, quick. 5 minutes, no flipping and cooks evenly. I also use it for fries and it works very well. I had to experiment with cooking times depending on the brand of frozen fries I buy, but no big deal. I don't use any oil with the fries, you are supposed to use some, but we like them not as crispy. I haven't cooked anything else in the Ninja. The thermometer probe - Don't waste your money. Maybe it's me, but I can't figure out a way to use it without burning myself. My meat thermometer works just fine. I do love that the top of the unit has a temperature chart - it's a little thing, but it is so convenient.Cleaning it - the grill insert is really kinda a pain, but, frankly, I think that is typical of any appliance with a grate. There is a brush provided that certainly helps, and I use a scrubbie too. The fry basket and the main pot clean up just fine - easy peasey. The problem I had - after several months the edges of the cooking pot started to flake off the nonstick coating. Even the cheap generic fry pans I bought decades ago when I first moved out on my own, didn't flake off that quickly. My daughter has had this same unit (without the probe) for over a year, using it several times a week, and has not had this problem. I took some photos, called the service number. No waiting in a queue (so no obnoxious, tinny music), the rep turned the call into a video call via a text message (I have no clue how he did it!) so I could show him the pot and the whole unit up close and personal. He immediately said that was not supposed to happen (I already knew that!), then said he would send me a new one and that it would would take up to 10 days. I don't think the call lasted longer than 10 minutes total. Unbelievably fantastic customer service - no fussin', no cussin' (not that I'd be cussin' anyway). The rep was wonderful, I did have a little trouble with his accent, but it's not like I can carry on a conversation in a foreign language, so props to him for that. I asked him just to slow down (everyone talks too fast for me) and enunciate a little more and he was very accomodating. We did fine. Unfortunately, when I tried to answer the survey at the end, the system didn't recognize my keypad responses, I think it might have been because of the type of call he used. I wanted to leave a positive response. Oh, well. Two days later - surprise! The new cooking pot arrived! Wonderful customer service.

Must have for apartment living.
As a single adult male who loves grilling, but lives in an apartment where outdoor grills are prohibited, this is a life saver. Granted, it doesn't fully replace the taste & smell of a real grill, but it is dang close. I've owned this for over a year and a half, and I've used it nearly every day of the time I've had it.Steaks, burgers, fries, fish, biscuits, hash browns, and more that I am forgetting. It exceeds at every cook function, I am always trying to think of new ways to use this to cook new meals, and so far it has not let me down once. Plus the fact the inserts are full ceramic, so none of those cancer chemicals you get in the full plasitc models. The ONLY slight negative is the air fry insert can be difficult to clean if you allow the slightest buildup of grease to accumlate after 2 or 3 uses. Even with that in mind, this is still a 5 out of 5 product for me.

This thing is awesome!
I wish it was twice the size, or that I had 2 of these to be honest. I looked into the Grill XL but it didn't seem to be getting as favorable reviews as the original Foodi Grill, so I went with this one. I'm not disappointed with it, AT ALL. First thing I did was grill a ribeye. And one thing I discovered is with the integrated temperature probe that THIS has, my previous method of doing ribeyes in a sous vide and then searing, was a big waste of time. Maybe for a strip or sirloin that could use a little heat tenderizing, sure. Ribeye? Naw. Throw it on the Foodi Grill, set the probe for 125 or 130 depending on your preference, and shes beautiful, and only takes a few minutes to cook instead of an hour +. You don't quite get the perfect edge to edge consistency, but honestly its good enough and pretty close. My wife, who is Filipino, has been making some great marinated and grilled chicken with this thing. It comes out so good. Nice beautiful BBQ type char on the outside, hot and tender and juicy on the inside. Its really easy to use. Get creative. Don't be fooled by all the settings, its really not all that complicated. The trick is the "grill", "roast", "air fry" and "dehydrate" settings all do exactly the same thing, the element heats, and it blows. the settings just limit you to whatever temperature range you will see. So if you want to slow cook something at 200 degrees for example, choose the dehydrate setting so that you have access to that temperature range. Its fairly easy to clean, but it does need to be cleaned thoroughly after each use. I'm pretty OCD about patina building up on cookware, and this machine has enough nooks and crannies in it where eventually its going to become a problem. I wish people could engineer appliances that took this sort of thing into consideration better and made them even easier to clean or more difficult to get soiled. Not that the Foodi is particularly bad mind you, the grill and air fryer basket and pan are super easy to clean. The problems start with the splatter screen, and move out from there to the top half of the unit. If you keep on it on a regular basis it should not be too much of a problem. We do fries and tots on a fairly regular basis, the fries are great, you would never know they are air fried vs deep fried .. they taste great., but mostly steaks, chicken .. whole birds (about 5 lbs), and also quarters. It did a Butterball turkey roast in there pretty well. I'm about ready to try and smoke a pastrami in it in a few days but thats an undocumented and unrecommended use .. but I think I know a way ...

Most used appliance we have!
I bought this in June 2022 and rarely is there a day that does not go by that I don't use this! Even when we traveled in our RV for 3 months I brought it with us. I use the are fry feature the most then the grill, bake then dehydrator. It's very easy to clean and use. I cannot recommend this product more.
