Was about to order but...
As I stated above, I was about to order this DVD set then I first noticed for a Buy-ray there were only 2 discs ? Why bother outside of a slightly better picture and then I looked up what was on it.I for one am getting sick and tired, surely I'm not the only one who is of WWE putting DVDs set that consists of matches already one more than one DVD or DVD sets. Why buy this one when you can just look up this menu ?Of course if you don't own the other DVDs already I would understand it, but the WWE is really getting I'm sure what one word to use here, but cheap comes to mind.

The Second Longest Running Episodic Weekly Television Series In History
It often gets overshadowed by the older show in Monday Night RAW & even referred to as "the B show" moving from Thursday to Friday to Live on Tuesdays & back again but throughout all of that has still left it's mark in "sports entertainment" for 20 years with it's matches & moments & superstars leading to some of these being relived here in this anniversary set celebrating 2 decades of SmackDown!Matches Include:Special Guest Referee - Shawn Michaels: WWE Champion Triple H vs. The Rock - This was the main event of the first "regular" episode of SmackDown with Commissioner Shawn Michaels as the referee as they traded momentum early on with the match unable to be contained in the ring with the brawl being taken up the ramp to moves executed on the metal stage with various associates around ringside getting involved in the action & paying for it in one way or another before you saw an ending that you didn't expect at that time setting the tone for what WWE wanted to do in making SmackDown a show where you had to tune in & see what happens.Aug. '99[Best Of SmackDown: 10th Anniversary; History Of WWE: 50 Years Of Sports Entertainment]Hardcore Champion Crash Holly vs. Headbangers - This was probably the most famous match during Crash's reign as the "Houdini Of Hardcore" as it took place in the family fun center of Funtime U.S.A. as they went through the arcade & playpen complete with Jerry Lawler's "Pac-Man" sound effects.Mar. '00[WWF Hardcore; Falls Count Anywhere; History Of The Hardcore Championship]Hardcore Champion Crash Holly vs. Gerald Brisco - This was one of those times where the championship match occurred under circumstances that never happened before or since due to the 24/7 rule in one of the most comedic moments in the history of the title."SmackDown" May '00[WWF Hardcore; History Of The Hardcore Championship]John Cena vs. Kurt Angle - Kurt Angle issued an open challenge for anyone to take him on only for a rookie to answer his challenge with two words "RUTHLESS AGGRESSION!" and a slap taking the fight to angle both in & outside of the ring including countering or powering out of his signature offensive maneuvers as they traded momentum with each man having close near falls & Cena being able to just stay one step ahead of Angle as it ultimately came down to one man being able to catch the other but the bigger story here was definitely Cena leaving a strong first impression.June '02[Best Of SmackDown: 10th Anniversary; John Cena: My Life; Kurt Angle: The Essential Collection]World Tag Team Champions Billy & Chuck vs. Edge & Hulk Hogan - This was a dream situation for Edge as his childhood hero was Hulk Hogan to the point where he got the ticket to see him at WrestleMania VI & not only does he get the opportunity to team with him but it was also against the Tag Team Champions on the Fourth Of July holiday complete with Hogan coming out waving the American flag & his classic theme of "Real American" (Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child" was his regular theme during this time). They were dominate early on against both men causing Billy & Chuck to single out Edge working him over with fast tags & double teaming with even Rico getting involved building to the eventual hot tag to Hogan. This was all about Edge having his special emotional moment with his childhood hero.July '02[Best Of SmackDown: 10th Anniversary; Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology; Edge: Decade Of Decadence]Steel Cage Match: Edge vs. Chris Jericho - Jericho tried to escape early but was caught by Edge who used the cage to his advantage when Jericho was tied into the ropes by giving him a spear that squished him between Edge & the cage. Jericho later used the cage to his advantage by throwing Edge into the cage causing him to bleed before attempted to deliver the same type of spear to him later on. Both men took some hard bumps here as Edge delivered his Edge-O-Matic from the top rope, Jericho slingshotting Edge into the cage & later delivering one hell of a chairshot to Edge's head, and both men doing moves off the top rope that ended up hurting themselves as much as the other guy. Edge & Jericho never disappoint & this is no exception but stay tuned afterwords as you got a moment from Rey Mysterio that was definitely a highlight reel moment that was used for a long time after it happened.July '02[Greatest Steel Cage Matches Of All Time]No Disqualification Match: Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero - Both men started off aggressive with Eddie delivering punches pounding on Edge's face while Edge executed offense such as slams & flipping Eddie across the ring as both men continued to beat on each other with aggression from a top rope frankensteiner to a powerbomb before things got turned up even more with ladders & chairs coming into play being used not only as weapons but making their regular offense more impactful to the point where one man was left bleeding & more than just the participants being involved in the action resulting in a match that was so physical that the fans gave a standing ovation afterwords.Sept. '02[Best Of SmackDown: 10th Anniversary; Viva La Raza: The Legacy Of Eddie Guerrero; You Think You Know Me: The Story Of Edge]Crusierweight Champion Matt Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio - Matt Hardy focused on the head & neck early on such as delivering a clothesline directly to the back of the head & pulling it against the ropes while also taking shortcuts such as his associates Shannon Moore & Crash Holly were making their presence known on the outside as well while switching focus to the lower body to the point where Rey was heavily showing the effects but Rey continued to fight on including using Matt's own moves against him as they traded momentum with both men coming off the top rope at different points to the point where one man had to catch the other to get the win.June '03[Best Of SmackDown: 10th Anniversary; Rey Mysterio: Little Big Man; Twist Of Fate: Best Of The Hardy Boys (2018)]WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show - Show dominated early using the steps on the outside along with power moves like the sidewalk slam while even using a half crab submission while Brock showcased his power with his offense like the german suplex although Brock's ribs were clearly hurt. Brock Lesnar was one of the people who is able to bring out the best quality that Big Show has based off their previous encounters but this was one of those cases where something had to give...but nobody expected WHAT did end up giving away.June '03[Brock Lesnar: Here Comes The Pain; OMG: Top 50 Incidents]WWE Tag Team Champions MNM vs. Batista & Rey Mysterio - They didn't show this on the DVD but earlier in the night, Melina tried to "influence" Batista into not taking this match but once she was done, he just thanked her for the "warm up" which led to Melina being so upset that she didn't do her normal entrance here & wanted the paparazzi away from her. Rey & Batista dominated here with their combination of speed & power to the point where MNM had to cheat with double teams & dirty tactics to gain an advantage. This was classic tag team wrestling here with MNM using the strategy of working over the weaker (on in this case, smaller) member of the team in Rey & keeping him from Batista with even Melina getting involved building up to the hot tag to Batista. Good quality match with the bigger issue here being two of Eddie Guerrero's close friends winning a championship in dedication to him.Dec. '05[Rey Mysterio: Life Of A Masked Man]World Championship C.M. Punk vs. Jeff Hardy - The final encounter in their feud as the loser of this match would leave WWE. Jeff Hardy was showing the effects of their T.L.C. match earlier in the week on the way to the ring before he was attacked from behind by Punk...who also had his shoulder taped up from their SummerSlam match. Punk kept constantly trying to escape the cage every quick chance he had early on before Hardy was able to recover & make a comeback. This went back & forth between both men struggling to escape at times such as Punk grabbing on to the steel steps to stop Hardy from pulling him back in, Hardy being "Spiderman" like in an attempt to climb over the top while later just dangling on the outside of the cage before being superplexed back in by Punk before just like SummerSlam, they were fighting at the top before Hardy fell & Punk left victorious.Aug. '09[Jeff Hardy: My Life, My Rules; Greatest Steel Cage Matches Of All Time]World Champion Christian vs. Randy Orton - Less than a week after winning the World Championship in a Ladder Match, Christian had to defend the championship here. Orton was in control early with Christian being able to regain control after an Orton clothesline that sent both men over the top rope to the floor with Orton's foot kicking Christian's head on the way down. Both men traded momentum pulling out all the stops as the match went on such as Christian's top rope offense of a missile dropkick & flying crossbody while Orton delivered his snap powerslam & hanging DDT before catching Christian in the middle of one high risk move too many. This was one of the best TV quality matches of the year.May '11[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '11; Randy Orton: Evolution Of A Viper]Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Tamina - This was a rematch from their first match weeks earlier featuring such highlights as one woman singled out due to the controversial ending of the previous match, high flying offense, one woman taking advantage of the position her opponents where in the middle of a struggle, multiple "crash & burns" off the ladder at once including one woman showcasing her superior strength from an unfavorable position, allies formed only to immediately broken up, and how one attempted the same strategy as before only for it to not work out with the same result.June '17[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '17; Then, Now, Forever: Evolution Of Womens Division]WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. A.J. Styles - Jinder was able to take control staying a stay ahead by either grounding or catching him while slowing the pace down as Styles attempted to pick up the pace with their signature aerial offense while targeting an area of the body in a back & forth match that was history making for not only SmackDown but WWE as a company.Nov. '17[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '17; A.J. Styles: Most Phenomenal Matches]No Disqualification Match: SmackDown Tag Team Champions Bludgeon Brothers vs. New Day - This is a rematch from SummerSlam earlier in the week with New Day being represented by Kofi & Woods with Big E going backstage instead of staying at ringside as usual as New Day took the fight to them right away only for the Budgeon Brothers to take it right back to them & more brawling on the floor using whatever they could get their hands on to dismantle them both individually & as a group including using their own bodies as weapons along with other props only for New Day to continue to use weapons themselves to make their offense more impactful & using not only their opponents momentum against them but also using pages out of their opponents playbook in a fun match.Aug. '18[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '18]WWE Champion A.J. Styles vs. Daniel Bryan - A confrontation earlier in the night setup this rematch from weeks earlier with Styles using his aerial offense & working over a part of the body while Bryan was more aggressive than previously seen utilizing his surroundings along with submissions & strikes to work over a part of the body while taking high risk that did end up hurting himself in the process as they traded momentum with counters & reversals as both men continued to attack the hurt areas of the body with submissions & signature maneuvers with one man taking advantage of an opening that would change him & the future of SmackDown as we knew it.Nov. '18[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '18]Kofi Kingston vs. Kevin Owens - This was a non-title rematch from their WWE Championship match at the Money In The Bank PPV earlier in the month. Owens ran Kofi down on the microphone for several minutes causing Kofi to come out hot right at the bell & keep the momentum going with his aerial offense both in the ring & to the outside while Owens was able to keep him grounded & use his weight advantage both in the ring & on the outside as well being no stranger to high flying himself in a solid match.May '19Other highlights include the first Thanksgiving food fight, Rhyno goes Jericho through the stage, Austin threatening Angle with his gold medals, Mr. McMahon's post 9-11 address & at the first Tribute To The Troops, the famous supermarket brawl between Stone Cold & Booker T, Mr. McMahon hires Stacy Keibler, Eddie Guerrero & Jeff Hardy's WWE Championship celebrations, Kurt Angle & Sensational Sherri perform "Sexy Boy", the coronation of King Booker, Edge's retirement & the birth of "Rusev Day."A big negative here is that it's no secret in recent years with the drop of physical to digital media that WWE decided to reduce their DVD sets to now 2 disc sets instead of 3 with that decision heavily coming into play here as there are huge time period gaps here years apart missing important history (nothing on J.B.L.'s longest reign in SmackDown history as WWE Champion) or the huge 6 year gap (mid 2011-to mid 2017) that is completely ignored & excusable when celebrating 20 years but missing more of a quarter of that time. A positive I can note here is that some of the most memorable moments & superstars from the blue brand are represented here with most of the matches being quality in their own right but another negative to that as noted throughout my review is that a high majority of these matches have been released onto DVD elsewhere while others have still been unreleased to this day (Undertaker vs. Batista cage match before Edge's cash-in). In the end, I would recommend for those who do not have a high amount of these matches & moments on other DVD sets or can pick this up later at a reduced price because again I just feel like so much was left on the table for things we've repeatedly seen elsewhere (including their much better 10 Year Anniversary set).
