A Modern Approach to Classical Repertoire - Part 2: Guitar Technique

Great pepertoire book with many classical guitar favorites
I have been using this book (and also the blue one, part 1) for nearly a decade to help my classical guitar students build their repertoire. My students love the book. It has a delightful collection of pieces from different musical periods, including famous ones by Tarrega, Albeniz, Bach, etc. There is also inluded in the book this little piece called "Reverie" composed by the author, Charles Duncan, and it is a gem; very beautiful piece. Mr. Duncan should either compose more, or publish more of his compositions. This book is more advanced than the part one; the pieces are more challenging, which makes a perfect complement with the first book.

Some Great Selections
This collection has some great selections I haven't come across before. The arrangements are intelligently written and easy to read. I'm really enjoying this book.

Charles Duncan does it again.
Good, it is sufficiently difficult. What I don't like is all those pieces with the low string tuned to 'D'. My guitar just doesn't sound good with that tuning, but i've worked around them by playing 'D' an octave up, or ow 'A' or 'F#'. Over all it's a good buy.

Great selection of pieces and difficulty levels.
Good repertoire that will keep you occupied for many hours. From intermediate to pretty advanced.
