Halo Grain Free Natural Dry Cat Food, Indoor Healthy Weight Wild Salmon & Whitefish Recipe

Our cat is a spoiled little princess. (see?)We used to feed her processed chicken parts (aka every other brand of food), but the queen of the castle has us trained well so we figured the only mammal here without a job deserves the best food.She used to be somewhat indifferent about being fed - but now it's like Pavlov's dogs on crack...as soon as any sound that even remotely resembles that of dry food inside a plastic container resonates through our house, the queen comes hobbling down the stairs!

I've purchased this food from Amazon for awhile now. Never an issue..... until this last time. As soon as I opened the bag I noticed the color was different. Then I fed it to my cats and they wouldn't touch it. This is the brand/type they eat all the time, nothing new. Really scared us, we took it away from them and returned it. Not sure what the deal was with that bag, but we can't chance it again.

I have been buying this food Exclusively for nine years. About 6 months ago I had to stop feeding my cat the wet version because each time she ate it she had diarrhea. I called Halo and was told nothing was different. I got the impression they didn’t really care. I know something has changed and I will never feed her that again. Now on to the kibble. Again, she has been eating this for 9 years as well. About three months ago she started throwing up. At first I thought she had hair balls out had maybe eaten too quickly. It was a hard decision to switch her food brand but I did it. We switched about three weeks ago and she hasn’t thrown up at all. She now eats Blue Buffalo. I hope someone from Halo reads these reviews because they have changed their formula in some capacity. Be honest with the public especially a loyal customer.

I have two cats: a 1-yr old kitten and a 4-yr old overweight cat. I have tried a number of cat foods and both of my cats seem to prefer the taste of Halo to other foods. I've rigged a system whereby my overweight cat gets two 1/4 cup servings a day and my kitten is free-fed; my kitten has continued to put on some weight, as he should while he's growing, while the overweight cat has slowly been coming back down to a healthy weight.I have tried several other brands of weight-loss food (same feeding regime) and Halo is the only food that has actually resulted in my fat cat losing weight instead of continuing to put more on. I take this as good evidence that Halo has found a good balance between satisfying the cats and keeping them on a diet.

I bought this food after they discontinued my old food and I read so many rave reviews. After doing more research on grain free food I decided to try it out.At first things seemed ok, but over time, the more I fed her the more concerning symptoms she was having. I finally today was forced to seek veterinary care for my cat as she was really sick. She was having multiple soft stools per day then none then became bloated and visibly ill. She also threw up once.I incurred almost $400 in veterinary bills today to get to the bottom of it. The end result after labs, xrays, and rectal exam was that I need to change her food!Just a warning this food may not be safe for all cats and could send your furry friend to the Vet.

I have been purchasing halo for my cats. The food looks different when it arrives and I did not think much and feed my cats with this new bag. Then I noticed my cat has been scratching and licking more than before. He has some hair loss from excessive grooming and wounds from excessive scratching. I took my cat to the vet and he said my cat has allergic reaction to his food. I was like no way, he has been on the same food. Then I went home and check the bag; and I found out Halo just changed the formula. It has Soy Protein Concentrate in it.....

My cat loves this food, and eat less than previous food. Lost some weight after I switched to this food within few months. Also, active level is up compare with when feeding other foods. Will keep buying this.- PRO: My cat loves this. it makes satisfied stomach quite long time, thus eating less. Lost some weight in few months. Active level up. Good for hair ball control. Fur and skin is nice. Good digestion. Poop is good condition.- CON: Little expensive, but it's worth it. Actually kcal is higher than other brand weight control foods. However, because this food included fat burning amino acid, and filling up stomach long time, it's less food=less kcal to consume.

I have two VERY healthy cats - a 26 pound tuxedo, and a 22 pound Ragdoll. The tuxedo wound up with allergies and needed to be put on a grain-free, limited ingredient diet, and for some time, they were on another brand (which made their stool smell HORRID!, but they liked it), but it was recently bought out by Purina, so I began searching for a new brand. After researching Halo and liking what I found, I purchased a small bag, and they LOVED it! We're now purchasing big bags. :) It doesn't take much food for them to be satisfied; their coats are *very* shiny and full, their stool no longer smells putrid, and everyone is happy. I, and my fur-babies, highly recommend Halo! :D
