A worthy, exciting 5-star read
This latest book in the Lost Fleet series is excellent and worthy of the five stars I'm giving it and just because.....well, we're talking about a Raymond Weil story here. Let's face it, Raymond doesn't do stories that are half-hearted - they're expansive tales that are.....well, huge. They cover multiple galaxies, massive battles on a grand scale with dark-matter and anti-matter missiles flying everywhere and now, an alternative universe. Goodness, the Special Five have faced all-sorts of dangers, but the multiverse might just be the one that tips the scales and their luck just might run out. I really enjoyed this one, but be aware a lot of time passes simply because time tracks differently in the alternative universe from ours. Of course this allows the children of the special five to mature to their mid-to-late teens. Now, of itself this may be a simple plot device, but really who cares when the story is pure entertainment and the characters are ones you can relate to and empathise with. The battles are incomprehensibly massive and the Eternals resort to desperate methods to destroy any advantage the Originators come up with just so they can continue to be 'the dominate species' in any galaxy. Naturally, Fleet Admiral Race Tolson comes up with a daring all-in-plan to reverse the dominance the Eternals have and maybe take them down a peg or two. So looking forward to the next book in the series where, we hopefully will see, Jeremy and Kelsey as well as Katie and Kevin rescued from the alternative universe :)

Good Read
While I enjoyed this installment in the series very much there were a lot of unanswered questions left hanging. What about the Eternals not trapped by the interdiction field? What happens with them? What about the Creevak and their universe? That opens up multiple questions concerning their origin, why do they not communicate with anyone, how big is their civilization, why are they so aggressive, what do they look like, etc. And then there is the question of how does the physics of their universe differ from ours, can the systems co-exist,are they really compatible, what is their power source, can it be adapted for human/Alton/Originator use, etc. And there are the children of the Special Five, what happens with them, especially after the difference in the time scales of the two universes. Good story, enjoyable read but left wanting to know so much more. I truly hope the series does not end with the next installment!

The best book in the whole series
I have read all the other books by this author and this one is by far my favorite. I paced myself when reading, intentionally slowing down and reading only a hundred pages per day, just to savor the content for a bit longer. And the ending!... I literally felt a tear forming. The best book in this universum.

Robert's Review and Comments
Outstanding, the best Originator book yet. The action, intensity and destruction wrought on the Eternals was awesome. Get Fleet Admiral Strong and his crews out of Creevak space and back in charge to finish the war and prepare for the Creevak incursions. Thanks for a GoodRead.

A fascinating series
Another amazing book in this series, I can't wait to find out how it ends but don't want it to stop.

This series is a fun read - but really needs some editing
This is fun light reading - not Peter Hamilton - and I’ve read most of the author’s books and will continue to do so. But the editing is horrid - several times character names are confused in the text - especially Jason/Jeremy and Kathryn/Kelsey. Also, not to quibble, but also horrid grammar. That said, they are fun to read and hard to put down - great during isolation !

Great story with gritty battles. Wonderful use of technology.
Entire series is great. Interesting how different story lines connect together. Well written characters. Exciting battles. Great use of technology - one of the best I have read. Highly recommend book.

Repetitive
It appears Weil has contracted a bad dose of cut and paste. There's only a certain number of times you can plough through the same battle (albeit with just enough serial numbers filed off to fool the totally credulous) before boredom, resentment or anger overtakes you. In addition, I have only previously encountered the almost obscene level of detail in which these battles are recorded, in poorer-quality seventies porn. Not his best effort.

A highly recommended series of books
I have read the whole series so far and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Highly recommended. I read these books a lot quicker than I do most others so I guess that falls in the 'page turners' category. The characters developed well throughout and I need to read the next one already. Sounds like the next one may be the last in the series which will be a shame. As for what I don't like...it can be a bit repetitive at times but there are only so many ways you can describe a ship blowing up and the proof reading could be a bit better at times as well. I do not recommend reading them unless you start at the beginning.

Raymond continues to excite people’s imagination
I like the storytelling and the way he makes you anticipate the action. Once you start to read you become embroiled in the plot which makes it difficult to stop reading (just one more page).

The Story goes on...
Another great installment. Space battles galore and new character development. Hard to put down, cannot wait to see the next one. Well done Raymond.
