Product description Clannad ~ Banba desertcart.com Though not their best effort, this 1994 release from Clannad is very good. It has a strong pop orientation, tinged with the Celtic influences that have always been a hallmark of Clannad's music. Those songs where these influences are strongest are also the strongest songs on the album; "Caide Sin Do'n Te Sin" is especially memorable, and "Na Laethe Bi" and "Banba Oir" are strong efforts as well. Of the more pop-flavored material, "Sunset Dreams" and "The Other Side" are probably the best. Banba also features "I Will Find You", which Clannad recorded for the 1992 film version of "Last of the Mohicans". --Genevieve Williams Review: Maybe Clannad's best? - "Banba" may take a while to grow on you, depending on which Clannad "sound" you like most. This album has a greater number of commercial-sounding tracks on it, but the sheer vocal and instrumental artistry lifts them out of the ordinary. Elevator music they're not. Styles vary quite a bit, from the ghostly instrumentals which seem to ebb and flow without discrete note on tracks such as Na Leithe Bhi and I Will Find You, to the rhythmic drum line and driving electric guitar work (yep!) on Struggle (which I often skip) - it's still Clannad quality though. There's the calmer almost country-sounding Sunset Dreams, and the bright but not dominant saxophone work on There For You and Soul Searcher. There are only three songs in Gaelic - Na Leithe Bhi, Banba Oir, and the haunting bilingual Caide Sin Do'n Te Sin - but they make up for this with some Mohican lyrics in I Will Find You! Standout tracks for me are the rhythmically sparkling Banba Oir, the hypnotic and compelling Mystery Game, and the simple but memorable Soul Searcher. Currently my favourite Clannad album. Review: Great Product - Beautiful. I love it

This is for the Remastered version of "Clannad" (blue background on cover)
The only difference I was able to detect between this Remastered version of the "Clannad" album and the standard one is that there is an extra track of "I will find you" at the end of it. It is very pleasant, but it is simply a variation on the original song. This version of this album was somewhat difficult to actually find and order. Truthfully, I don't know that I would do it again. I love the album, but I suppose I hoped that all of the songs would have been remastered. "Sunset Dreams" is one of the very most beautiful, most moving songs I have ever heard. For me, it was worth it to order the entire remastered album just on the mere chance that there might have been something that might have enhanced my enjoyment of this one song. There wasn't, but I'm glad I ordered it anyway.

Banba review
This is an excellent album. Every track is a gem. The added new track not on the original album, the remix of "I Will Find You," is quite different from the original track used in "Last of the Mohicans," but it is just as good in its own way.

banba
banba is definately one of clannads best albums,it is a perfect chill out listen,no weak songs and the bonus track on the remastered version, this cd is better than anam and landmarks in my opinion,a great introduction to clannad if its your first buy, also try Macalla and Magical Ring two more great albums by this band.

Clannad's Best of the 90's
After the necessary head-clearing exercise of their 1990 album "Anam" Clannad make a tentative step back to the world of "Macalla" with this album. It was the right move. "Banba" is probably most famous for "I Will Find You" that became the theme to Last of the Mohicians. If so, it's a real pity, because the surrounding material here is just as good, if not better, than the movie title. The opening track satisfies all those listeners that think that Clannad makes "spooky music." (A hangover impression from the Robin Hood soundtrack!) But the rest of the album finds the band in a confident soft-rock mode. This is how Sirius should have sounded. The music is firmly grounded in rock, but with a well distilled folky edge. The melodies are good, too. If you're new to Clannad, this album is an ideal place to start.
