Easy to use and clean, makes better coffee with less trouble
As loyal user from the original version of AeroPress, I never liked flipping, but love longer brewing.I bought this unit in June 2024, use it at least twice a day and am very happy with its performance.Never once has it leaked (still on the first of 2 included valves). While the stainless filter does a good job, I grind very fine and use the paper filters. That combination allow me to press harder, giving more "crema".My only recommendation is that when rinsing, be sure to have sink strainer in place, as I've almost lost valve. As an 86 year old guy, I heartily recommend this unit.

Works fine but very difficult to attach to bottom of vessel.
The idea is great and I agree with its design as I often use French press and other submersion coffee makers. The only issue I have is the difficulty in attaching the holding ring to my Aero Press canister. This needs to be addressed. My Aero Press is 8 years old and going strong but perhaps newer models have a thinner base for attachment! This is now December 20,2024 and I finally received my new “very expensive” glass and stainless with stand AEROPRESS PREMIUM. This cap is made for this newer aeropress and fits perfect. I now highly recommend this item.

Glad I bought this!
My first morning with this. I think a flow control filter cap should automatically be included with the Aeropress, however if I have to buy one it’s nice to be able to buy one, plus a screen, for less than $20.Aeropress has their own flow control filter cap for $25, and then you still have to buy a screen.I saw a review that showed the tabs broke off and I’m crossing my fingers that the tabs on mine hold out. Also noticed that there is no reinforcement on the plastic below to keep the metal screen from bending under pressure. I have lessened the pressure I place on the plunger in the hope that it will help the screen last longer. It seems like the grounds were still about the same level of dryness as I was getting with the original Aeropress cap plus a paper filter. Thinking about it, the grounds, being solid, they will only compress so much so I think it’s ok if I ease up. Maybe they will change the design in a future version.TL;DR I’ve only had my Aeropress for a couple of weeks, and I noticed that a lot of the water ran through before I had even had a chance to stir it. I also found that I had to add more coffee to have a strong enough brew. I went online and found the inverted method, but I kept thinking there has to be a better way. When I first started researching Aeropress, I didn’t understand why Aeropress was selling these, as I thought that the brewing system being offered was complete a product with nothing else needed.

U can use a paper filter on this if...
First idky these don't come standard on all aeropresses! Second this is not designed to use a paper filter but there is a way around this: if you already have a metal filter (without a rubber gasket) put that in the bottom of the cap w a paper filter on top of this - DO NOT add the included metal filter orthe cap won't fit on the aeropress but this other method will work. I've If you only use a paper filter it will likely sink into & clog the gasket when plunging. I Hope this helps! This cap is a huge improvement over the original cap!

broken, lowkey dangerous
Mine broke at the twist connection like many pictured. Just spend five more dollars to get an actual aeropress one now that they make them.

Difficult Cleanup
Filter works well. Cleanup is difficult because the metal filter stick in the cap with the coffee.

Worth every penny
I love this thing. It’s a game changer. My press used to leak out and brew time wasn’t what I wanted but with this gadget it works perfectly. I like the reusable filter to save a little paper, easy to use and clean, a little pressure from the press and water flows out great, fit perfectly
