Highly recommended
Never knew the stories of Abraham, Issac and Jacob were as beautiful. Yes, their stories are great and I like reading them over and over again. But the way Anand understood their stories are at a new level altogether. The book opened my eyes to the never changing nature of God. I thought 'Grace' as a concept came only through the coming and death of Jesus. But no! The 'Grace' of God was present since the very beginning. This book reminds me of the fact that God is still working in me to make me perfect so that I can be in His presence.I enjoyed the book thoroughly. As suggested by the author I read it slowly:one chapter a day. Digesting it all through. The journey was excellent. Encouraged me to the core.Thank you Anand for this brilliant book.Highly recommended for everyone to read. Even if you know the Bible by heart, I am sure you will get new insights in this amazing book. And for those who are new to reading the Bible, this book will teach you how to connect the dots. I agree, OT is boring sometimes. But the way this book has shown as to how to understand OT in the light of the NT will make you want to read more of the OT.

Im not usually one to write reviews. I usually read reviews, buy the product and then keep my opinion to myself. But I couldn't do that this time. This is a wonderful exposition of the life of three men who God almost always referred to himself in regards to, viz. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. For years I've struggled with understanding the fair and just character of God especially while reading the book of Genesis and wondered why God would choose terribly flawed men and women (Sarah, Rebekah, Leah and Rachel) and favour them. It seemed so absurd. The standard response I've received all these years is that God is sovereign and one must not question God because his ways are higher than our ways. That answer did not satisfy. I still struggled. Until now. Anand has so beautifully brought in answers to these questions from the new testament - a section we tend to think is separate from the old testament. And yet, for the first time, I was able to see how God has beautifully woven this entire canvas together, over centuries! He truly is sovereign! In his Facebook live sessions, Anand has mentioned that this book would change the way you read the old testament. I'd like to add that this would change the way you read the new testament too. This isn't just a great book to read yourself. I'd highly recommend gifting this to others too.

A beautiful window to see, read and experience God and His powerful grace.
This book is a experience worth going through,so take time to chew the pagesand author purposely wants you to reflect. This isn't just a reading experience but a spiritual exercise to know God in the bible and reflect personally.Christian or not, reading this book will show you the reality of fallenness of mankind and the greatness of God ih restoring them back.Personally I really enjoyed this book dwelling on the grace of God , came across observations which I never saw in my personal study of scripture and that's the beauty of bible, no matter how familiar the story is God reveals to us more and more which makes studying scripture exciting.I've also learnt the deeper meaning of grace! It's really deep which is why you should read this book.I take this review to appreciate the author for writing a book that is need of the hour in indian and world context. As flawed people we need grace and it's already made available by God.This book does a wonderful job in showing us the way page after page.

A must read !
May be my innerself thrived for perfection that I often found myself wandering in the mess I create, overwhelmed by the guilt that comes along. I must say, it's a dangerous place to be.It was one of those days a friend gave this book to read, and I was surprised that my perspective towards grace was all wrong. We talk about His Grace, we pray for His Grace, we thank God for His Grace but little did I know the true meaning of it. Grace has the power that surpasses all my failures and spiritual downfalls and still looks at me as a precious diamond because of what Jesus carried for my sin. If the detailed picture of Abraham, Issac, Jacob makes me not want to like them, how much should I hate myself if it wasn't for His Grace. The author of the book is infact one of the excellent speakers I have come across and how wonderfully he managed to simplify the complexity of Old Testament characters. He carefully conveyed the message without any misleading grace concept ! A must read.

Because a clear glimpse of Grace can change your life forever ❤
Being brought up in a Christian family, I wondered what is yet to be understood from the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and out of curiosity I bought this book. I have always been taught that these men are role models and I have only heard sermons of how they obeyed and loved God. Because I didn't put in effort to study their lives, and because I was taught this way, I always avoided their mistakes. These men were saints in my head. But reading this book showed me another whole different way of studying Bible. Also, now I have come to understand that a lot of these details point to something magnificent. It was amazing to discover that grace was the narrative all along and the goal is not trying to be like these heroes but to be transformed into Christ's image. Seeing grace in a deeper way gave me hope, freedom and a new perspective.Thank you so much Anand Mahadevan for finding time and investing resources in writing this book. I, for sure have been changed and I believe only eternity will tell us what this book has really done.
