Q: My husband has arthritis. Would he have difficulty paying this?

Hi! I deal with a lot pain, stiffness and weakness in my hands due to rheumatoid arthritis. I love my Gecko Kalimba In Koa wood! I find that it’s not heavy and it’s easy to hold. It doesn’t require a strong muscle grip to hold a Kalimba it basically just sits in your hands and the fingers cradle it while it’s played with the thumbs- which in my case they can be very stiff with inflammation but it helps me to exercise them! I don’t have much strength in my hands but I can definitely play my Kalimba- :) I find that it melts stress away and surprisingly it helps with the stiffness caused by arthritis. It’s a dose of Happy with a side affect of relaxation and many smiles! I hope and pray the best for you and your husband. :)

Q: are the notess engraved on the key?

Yes, each key is engraved with the note and a number so you can play the kalimba if you read music or if you need a numbering system.

Q: I have no training in music. How steep will the learning curve with the Kalimba be?

I was in the same boat and that's why I got the Kalimba it's very easy to learn with no background in music. I assume you've watched all the videos on YouTube at some point as they are really helpful and inspiring. This is an excellent beginner Kalimba and it is beautiful and sound and comes perfectly tuned

Q: Does it come piano bag and songs book?

It comes in a real nice case and there are a few simple songs to learn on.
