Higher quality at a better price than many other options on Amazon. Yes it has a plastic hose fitting but I was unable to find a metal option anywhere. Im very happy with the fit and function.

I picked up the Shoreline Marine Universal Motor Muffs for flushing my 2-stroke 40hp outboard after saltwater runs, and honestly, they work just fine for what they are. Installation is quick—just clamp them over the water inlets, hook up the hose, and you’re good to go. I like how they snug up pretty well and stay in place if you center them right. Water flow was steady, and my motor started pulling water almost immediately. No leaks or sputtering—just smooth flushing. I’ve used them maybe a dozen times now, and they still look decent with no cracks in the rubber or weak springs. The only knock I’d give them is they feel a bit lightweight. I wouldn’t expect them to hold up to years of hard use or fit every engine perfectly—if you’ve got a bigger or oddly-shaped lower unit, double-check the size. But for your average outboard, this is a solid, affordable tool that gets the job done. If you’re a weekend boater or doing occasional flushes, I’d definitely recommend these. Just don’t expect high-end durability—they’re basic, and they work.

Second pair of these. Plastic 90 degree fitting going from the tubing in the muffs themselves breaks easily. Replaced the first one with a metal 90 to fix it. Second pair broke in same spot. OK for someone who does not need them a lot, but I use mine almost everyday for 9 months a year

Shocking muffs. They just do not work. The rubber pads just do not seal!! The water goes everywhere except into the engine. I missed the return, so £20 down the drain. Read the reviews .........enough said. DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!!!. Man, i hate being ripped off!!!!!!! You can get good advice on any outboard forum. Everyone on them advices not to buy square/ rectangular muffs and to go for circular ones. Wish i'd seen that sooner.........
