Far far better than he $90 Kindle Book I bought on Hydroponics
I got the free sample of this Book for my Kindle. After reading just the first chapter I realized that THIS book is 10 times better then the first Kindle Book I bought on Hydroponics. I then bought the Dunn sample and like that system. For that first Kindle Book I paid $90. It was very, very far over my head and of no immediate use to me. I do intend to engage in hydroponic home gardening, and this book I can use. I could never use any of the fancy $90 book. I'll keep the expensive one though for research. I'll study this Book by Dunn as I make decisions on systems and equipment.I'm adding this part after several days of reading and planning my own hydroponic system.Dunn's Book is now the center piece of my study and planning for my hydroponic gardening. I was going to buy a paper version of this Book to give my "non-Kindle gardener" and found out to my surprise that this Book is ONLY available in the Kindle edition.Kindles are now cheap enough I might well just buy another Kindle to give my gardener so HE can read the same stuff I am reading. It's great

Ripoff
Complete garbage and I'm sorry I wasted my money on it. Very short and very light on detail and sometimes the sentences don't even make sense. There is nothing "DIY" about it - just vague descriptions of concepts. If you've ever watered a housplant, you are probably too advanced for this book.

Best detailed book on hydroponics
Very detailed book, covering all on hydrponics, every system is described. Most other books are not that concrete and specific, in this book things like diameter tube, professional systems, chemical details for the water is shared. For everyone who is serieus about setting up an hydrponics system, the book to buy!

OK
I was hoping for more info on how to set up a system. The two examples given were very basic and could have been found on line for free. If you know nothing about hydroponics this might be a good spot to start.

Informative
Love the details about the nutrients and natural pesticides. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to start a hydroponic or organic garden.

Saving soil. Gardening for townies.
I live in the UK in the Vale of Evesham. It is a Mecca for commercial growers in large greenhouses and poly-tunnels supplying supermarkets and garden centres. Clearly, there is a finite resource in growing media, as for each plant that leaves their premises, some "soil-like" medium must go too to keep the roots growing. They practice in vast quantities what Allen Dunn describes so well for beginners and particularly for those in towns where topsoil is a rare commodity.Following Allen's excellent advice, they can now have a "garden" which they otherwise would not have. Plants can be grown where otherwise they would not. If you want to save the planet, your first small step is to buy this book. Our local village garden club had a talk the other evening from a professional grower on this very subject. He did not explain it half as well as Allen has.

Wouldn't recommend
Wasn't impressed at all! I didn't learn much at all as the information is so basic. If you want to learn about hydroponics you'd be better off doing a google search and get the information for free.
