Good deal at around $50 range/not so good at $100 or more
Poor overall craftsmanship. Frets had very sharp edges and needed to be filed down. The neck block that attaches to the body has a large crack when viewed through the soundhole. The gloss finish looked poorly done. One of the tuners snagged and wouldn’t adjust tuning while turned and then released and overturned.Once the original strings were replaced, sound and intonation wasn’t bad for the price. There was decent mid and low end response. When I bought it at $53, this guitar would be hard to beat at that price. I returned it because of the cracked neck block at the joint and was going to replace with the same item. However, the price jumped up to the $100 range. I felt that there were better options at the $100 range.

Gibson is still a winner
Let's be honest up front. I love Gibson guitars. I have owned one for many years until recently when, thinking I would not play it much any longer, I sold it. Immediately I was sorry for letting it go so I ordered this new little model and I love it. It is not the most expensive Gibson by a long shot, but it is a full size beauty and has a great tone. I am extremely pleased with its appearance, its excellent craftsmanship and handy size. It also came with all the goodies--case, picks, extra strings, even a lesson CD. If you are a professional musician you will want to consider an upgrade model, but if you want a Gibson for fun and your own enjoyment, you can't do better than this model--and the price is right. I would also recommend it for a young or beginning player. Beautiful guitar, well made, good sound, great buy.

Nice for the money
The handleing of the order was quick and informative. The product is good value for what you pay for it. The only down side would be the strings that are on it are little cheap. Other then that good for someone who rookie and whats to learn how to play guitar

A great starter
I bought my guitar and have not been able to set it down! The action is great, it comes with decent strings, I would recommend to buy some .10 strings for when the originals break. Wonderful sounding and even better price! You will not find a better guitar for cheaper.

Get the real thing folks.
Shame on Gibson, I had to get some adjustments, I bought this for a friends birthday gift and boy, was I shocked, even the repairman said "this couldn't be a GIBSON". I was so embarrassed, I thought I was getting a good deal when I saw "byGIBSON " next to Maestro, but I've truly found out the meaning of "looks are deceiving". Sounds aren't !
