Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe Lamborghini KO Version

Will not transform properly in either mode. Skip this MP KO.
I've purchased a dozen or so MP KOs so I know it's a roll of the dice but I've never had a KO refused to transformer properly in either mode. I've included images to illustrate the issues. In Alt mode, you can see the right wheel does not tab in causing the wheel to bend inwards. The right side of the alt mode (sideswipes arm) also doesn't align or tab in properly so it presses down on the non-tabbing wheel stopping it from spinning. In Robot mode, you won't be able to lock sideswipes torso in place because the plastic tabs are either too large or misaligned. This is a crucial tab for robot mode so without it he isn't transformable. Basically, this MP KO isn't good at either of it's modes making it a pretty disappointing purchase even for a KO. Save your money.

An okay KO from BestGrey, but this one does need some work.
I've purchased several KO (Knock Off) Masterpiece figures from BestGrey. I've been overall very happy with the quality of them. While this is by no means a bad figure, I think this is the weakest one I've received to date.Okay, so first let's get the negatives out of the way. I like several of the other reviews was unable to complete his transformation into robot mode. It seems like the tolerances are off on many pieces causing them to be just slightly too large or too small (this seems to be unique to this KO figure as none of the others I've received from BestGrey have had this issue). The hinge on his "spine" just above his waist was slightly too large and wouldn't allow him to fold his chest completely forward. Additionally there is a slot just below his front license plate that should tab into the white portion of his abdomen and this slot is comically small (a tiny sliver opening about 1/4 the size of the tab intended to go into it). Additionally both his should rocket and his weapons do not fit snugly into his should socket and palm respectively. The weapon tabs are too small and the holes too big (the opposite problem we had with his chest tab).I was about to fix most of these problems with about 5 minutes and a dremel. I took some plastic off his spine hinge so he could fold forward further, and dremeled out that slot to make it large enough to fit the abdomen tab. The weapons I simply wrapped some plumbers tape around the tabs to make them slightly larger (the tape is hidden in his hands and shoulder when equipped anyways). Now on to the good about this figure. Once I was able to correct this figure he has been an excellent addition to my collection. The paint application is great, there isn't any obvious paint chipping or issues. Everything else besides the issues mentioned above on his transformation worked flawlessly. I've included a close up photo of him to see the detail as well as a group photo of him with several other KO autobots to see his scale. If you're handy enough with a dremel (or a knife if you have a bit more time) and don't mind doing some slight repairs/modifications this figure is a great purchase. If you've not comfortable with modifying your figure, go with a legit Takara for $70 or $80.

Low quality, arrived with torso piece installed BACKWARDS. Wouldn't recommend.
This KO actually arrived with the torso cover assembled BACKWARDS. It didn't even sit in the packaging correctly because of it, and alt mode was completely out of whack. I've bought other KO Masterpiece Transformers with fair quality but I cannot believe it even left the factory with the freaking torso cover installed wrong. I was able to unscrew it, disassemble and reinstall correctly, but at this price such poor quality is inexcusable, even in a KO. Once I made that repair the toy was better, but the complaints from others for poor panel fit are valid as mine suffers that too. Sideswipe looks good in robot mode, but alt mode looks very sketchy. I have seven Masterpiece Transformers, a mix of original and KO brands. It took me awhile to write this review because I wanted to see if I'd feel better about it after some time but I don't. This is the only one I regret purchasing. Two stars because robot mode looks okay, but spend the extra for the real deal.

KO's are usually great BUT NOT THIS ONE! Buy the real deal!
I find that most Transformers Masterpiece KO units are nearly indistinguishable from the authentic originals. I have about a 50% mix of true Takara Tomy MPs and/or Hasbro's (true MPs) and the Takasa Tonys (aka the knock offs). This MP-12 KO is by far and away the WORST KO of them all, as far as my experience goes.I ordered one unit and it was impossible to transform into robot mode and keep him standing up because the chest would NOT tab into the waist. I contacted the seller who very generously sent me a second unit at no additional charge. Well after weeks of waiting for a second unit to show up from China, it was WORSE than the first one. Not only did it have the EXACT SAME defect in the waist, but the arms were so loose and sloppy, that the only pose it can hold is the "floppy arms at the waist" poseThe summary here: The seller was great, but the product is CRAP. You're WAY better off spending the extra for a TRUE MP-12 from Takara.
