Does this model have Backwards compatibility?

The 1 received wasn’t backwards compatible. I not 100% sure but am guessing when these get renewed and or get new hardware replaced in them it takes that away. I had read that 20-60 GB were backwards compatible. So I thought that’s what I was getting. If that’s what you are wanting make sure it’s right in the description. I think if they truly are they will be higher priced. Just my opinion. I returned mine for a refund.

No sorry only the 20 gb 60gb models issued at launch are compatible with ps2 chips the 80 gb has emulation software to make it comparable with ps2 all modlesare compatible with ps2.just remember if you get an 80 gb you have to download the software via the internet.

Does this have wifi I need the early version with no wifi

It does have wifi the only version that does not have wifi is the 20 gb model that came out at ps 3 launch

Prepare for disappointment

The controller included is an aftermarket Chinese product. The controller cord does not have the correct connector so I can't even set up the PlayStation. There is also absolutely no documentation such as a User Manual.

console is fine, disc reader was completely broken

the console turned on and worked just fine, but as soon as i tried to put a game in it started making this really loud clicking noise and wouldnt even pull the disk in the console. it was extremely disappointing especially after spending like 150 bucks on this thing, i only play games on disc so its gonna be useless if you are also playing games on disc, would not recommend buying.

Defective Not Renewed

This PS3 Renewed was Complete waste of money. I will not return it just incase they will give it to someone else. Not long after connecting and turning it on, give it 15 to 20 minutes. It started glitching "green lines or corrupted colors" and "pausing or screen freezing" with no response what's so ever. The one who tested it probably just turned it on for like 5 minutes then gave it a stamp of approval or maybe complete scam. Not only that it was not backward compatible. I tried putting a ps2 disc it said it did not support it.
