Perfect, complete, hard to imagine how anyone could improve on this
No complaints whatsoever. Seals the beer perfectly. The nature of the device is that as you pull and twist it along just a bit - very easy to do - a dense kind of rubber surface is forced against the top of the bottle, creating a perfect, solid seal. And I do mean solid. Complete and unshakeable. German engineering and simplicity. The device is also a bottle opener, which may not seem like much, but it's an excellent and satisfying opener to use. And then instantly, the bottle is sealed any time you want it to be. And by sealed, I mean perfectly. Absolutely perfectly. You could shake up as much as you like and nothing is coming out. You can toss it as far as you like, and if the bottle itself doesn't break from the landing impact, the thing is sealed as tightly as it can be.I cannot imagine how this item could be improved. Over time, the device kind of opens gradually from the pressure of twisting it on - but hey, German engineering: they've accounted for that by making the thing get narrower as it goes along and the device just makes the same seal further along. I've had them for longer than I care to say, and the older ones seal at a different point than the new ones, but the older ones aren't going to stop sealing because the way it narrows - you'll realize what I mean when you get one, just moves the sealing point a little further down, and clearly the end is so much smaller than the top that it's never going to reach the point where this thing doesn't seal.If you're looking for the total, complete resealing solution, this is the BMW, the AUDI of resealers. A whole other level than the simple ones of various kinds. If I keep going I'll just end up repeating that it's absolutely perfect for what it is: a beer bottle resealer.

sturdy little gadget & it works
Wasn't quite sure how this little unit would work, Pleasantly surprised. Performs as advertised, opens bottles flawlessly, best part it actually tightly seals the bottle. I opened a beer to see how it works on sealing, let it sit in frig for about three hours. Slid the top piece off and voila seemed like I just opened a fresh beer. Love this little unit. It will get lots of use here. Sturdy construction, seals very nicely , price point very good. Making it easier to open, see photo's 3/4 use it upside down putting your thumb on the red part. The other way the rough edges push into your finger when opening a bottle. The unit is really handy . still 5 stars

Perfect for at home use - would look elsewhere for on the go
I bought both the westmark hermetus and the sizzler at the same time to use for the season (3 months) down in baja mexico. We buy our bottled beverages in 1.2 liter bottles and you don't always want to drink 1.2 liters in one sitting. The westmark does a great job of opening bottles and it's fairly sturdy as there are no moving parts to break. However, the way it seals bottles is by wedging on top of the bottle lip, and it can become unsealed by pushing it the other way. Because of this, I can't recommend using the westmark in a cooler where you have bottles touching each other or bouncing around. Not a problem if you are using it in a stationary location. Also of note, look how far out it sits on top of a bottle. It can be a little awkward in a fridge if you have it next to a bunch of other bottles; it's less space efficient.

Fits Martinelli Sparkling Cider Bottles!!!
I couldn’t find the right size bottle stopper for my Sparking Cider. I called Martinelli directly and the rep told me to get this one because it fits their bottles. The design can fit multiple size bottles because of the wedge shape on the underside and you slide it onto the top of the bottle from the side to cap it, for an airtight seal. There is no stopper that needs to go inside the bottle, this is entirely different and simple to use. Hope the photos help.

A simple well-designed multiuse bottle opener
I didn't really need a bottle opener, but I just loved the design of this. You can use it to open bottles, which is no big deal pretty much every multitool or Swiss Army knife has a bottle opener on it. I've even seen beer cups with built-in bottle openers. What sets this one apart is it also has built-in way to open twist beer bottles without hurting your fingers. But what really makes this come in handy for me is the fact that when I open my bottle, I can use it to seal my bottle. When I'm going kayaking, it's a godsend because my beer won't tip and spill. I would imagine also for people who want to protect their beverages from, somebody putting a Mickey in it it could be a first line of defense.

Simply brilliant
Bottle opener and sealer in one simple design. Well constructed. I use this all the time if I have a carbonated bottled beverage that I want to seal. Works great. Beer, tonic water, etc. will hold carbonation indefinitely. Be warned, that this won’t work for champagne bottles. The neck of a champagne bottle is too wide.
