feels exquisite, looks great and actually does a fabulous job
If you're the kind of person drawn to things that feel exquisite, look great and actually do a pretty good job, you will love this. There are much cheaper USB to TOSLINK converters on the market but few supporting 44.1K-192KHz/16-32 Bit sampling rate and DSD64(DOP). I bought this to facilitate taking a lossless digital audio signal (flac) from a desktop and straight into a pair of active speakers. Whilst the Douk Audio U2 provided a significant improvement in sound quality over blutooth, due to the limitations of the speaker's onboard DAC, better results were obtained through the use of a DAC USB. To be fair, I cannot really fault the Douk Audio U2, it being the active speakers that are going back.

Works really well, if a little pricier.
Prompt delivery. Connected to a iMac usb, no drivers needed.

Extremely well manufactured and looks and sounds brilliant
Does 192k upsampling but whether you'll notice the difference is a moot point It's appearace is jewel-like.

It works well
Like all things in Audio, expensive does not always mean better sound . Each component is an ingredient to to the final sound - even the cables !. I have a Topping workshop setup that is on the very budget end, but I cannot fault its sound. This douk U2 unit uses the same chip as my Hecate Lt. I would say that the Douk has a "slightly" more edgy sound compared the Hecate Lt, but still good. this will help if your setup is on the warm sounding end. The Douk U2 might compensate and brighten things up with the right DAC . The only problem with the Douk U2 is finding the drivers for windows. It can be done, but a little curious as to why this is such a chore. Xmos , the chip company does not give out the drivers easily. I suspect that a paid licence is needed to distribute the driver... make your own conclusions. Also quite important, is that you need to go into the device additional settings and change the default setup for the best sound - Image attached. I bought the Douk to connect to a Modi 3 DAC that is still coming. I did the tests on a Pre Box s2 Digital DAC. Tip : The best co axial cable I have tried is Oehlbach 15m NF 113 DI . On my system , better than Fisual, Audioquest Forest, Amazon basics and 2 other budget cables. Very transparent and detailed. Also the Oehlbach RCA cables are worth a try - very transparent (this can be a problem) . They might sound different on your system, so a test is needed. In conclusion - for the moment - Its recommended. Using the driver HECATE-USB-Audio-Class2-Driver_v3.20.0

Works in Stereo
Actually works straight out of the box under Windows 10, but sound not so good until the driver is installed. This is a bit fiddly. My PC didn't recognize a driver on the supplied mini-CD until I opened it in file manager and pointed to:XMOS-Stereo-USB-Audio-Class2-Driver-3004_v4.13.0(dop for WIN7-WIN10).exe. Ran this and got very good stereo sound through coax cable connected to digital input of a Yamaha receiver. As I only use stereo, I can't say what other sound modes are possible e.g. 5.1. I have set the sound quality to 24 bit, 48KHz and FLAC files sound as good as my ears can tell.
