Ok. I rarely write reviews, which makes me a hypocrite because I always read them. I had to for this product, for me it has made a difference in just a week, I’m amazed. I got a rash about 2 months ago, no big deal, it started to spread, doctor misdiagnosed me and gave me topical steroids, made it worse and skin started to darken. I had bad skin my teenage years and finally had nice skin and it was quickly going downhill, I was so upset. I googled my symptoms and saw photos of what looked exactly like my back, tinea versicolor. I started this with little hope but wow, so glad I did. Works amazing for me. Still applying until this large tub is gone (unless you have very small patch, you’ll need this size) I’m thrilled this is helping me, I hope this review might help someone else suffering from this kind of outbreak.

This ointment is quickly effective to work on my skin. My dermatologist looked at my age and said I had lost pigment and it would never return. He did not look at my skin - only my age. I had almost given up hope until I began recounting numerous doctors' visits over the year to receive a prescription treating tinea. Apparently, I carry a fungus ready to break out if it's not treated. I ordered this ointment and the bar of Terrasil soap. I began using the soap in the shower 1 time a day letting is sit for about 3 to 4 minutes and using the ointment 3 times a day and have cut back to twice a day. I will most likely be using this forever because it has proven the doctor's diagnosis might have been partially wrong. Yes, I have lost some pigment in various spots from sun damage over my 57 trips around the sun but I also have been fighting a fungus during 40 of those years. Terrasil soap and 6x ointment are my go to for help. Some of the spots dry up and leave a little red crusty bump but most all of the discolorations are gaining color in short weeks with no bumps. The itching as the skin heals is much less bothersome than some of the tinea spots have been over the years. I am happy with my choice to purchase Terrasil products.

I’ve battled tinea versicolor for almost 20 years. I have tried everything from oral medication (awful side effects), selsun blue , prescription lotion, to prescription soap. I felt really helpless this past spring. The white spots were the worst they have ever been. And NOTHING has worked in the past. I splurged on this and (I hope I don’t jinx it) but this is the first summer I don’t have white spots all over my shoulders back and chest. I can’t even begin to describe how great this stuff works. I used it for two weeks every day over a month ago. Now I will use it once a week to make sure the spots don’t return. If you have tried everything without results ..don’t hesitate. … BUY THIS !!! I’m not embarrassed to wear a swimsuit or tank tops this year!!

Works very well for Tinea Versicolor. Be sure and store the tub in a ziplock when not in use to prevent it from going bad.

Kind of expensive but it works! Had an outbreak of tinea that was going crazy on my upper chest and shoulders. Used this religiously in combination with Nizoral shampoo and started seeing a difference in about a week. After two weeks the spots are almost entirely gone.

This tinnea product may work well for some. But you need to know that it is very sticky with beeswax if you want to live with that on your skin, it stays on a very long time. As I live in the tropics I didn't particularly want this coating on my skin in the heat during the day, although the odor is pretty inoffensive. It is suggested to be applied morning and night but I didn't want to get it on my sheets either. So it's not the best concoction for my lifestyle and without applying it regularly I can't attest to its effectiveness. I cannot distinguish between sun damage (small scars) and tinnea, although use of selsun gold and tinnea soaps seem to have diminished the white spots somewhat. I am going to try the liquid applicator of tinnea treatment to see if that works better for my situation, although iving in the tropics may mean I'm a spotted person for life. Also this product began to smell rancid after months at tropical temp, so I put it in the fridge but now it seems stronger--not a deal breaker, it is still a pretty neutral odor once it is on, but it may work better for someone who vacations in the tropics and picks up tinnea and then uses this product in a more temperate climate. And who hasn't had it for many years. And isn't in their seventies with sun damage.
