Homestead Raw Honeycomb (7oz), Real American Comb Honey for Eating, Locally Sourced in Wisconsin

I got this for a Sunday school lesson on John the Baptist. The kids loved it and it definitely (along with the grasshoppers I got) proved memorable and perfect as wild honey.It's not the sweetest and I decided I don't care for honeycomb. In case you don't realize, it's just bees wax and is super chewy.

The container says it’s from Wisconsin. The description says 5 inch in length but it’s actually 4.5 inches in length. There was a air gap space of maybe about 1/2 inch inside container (top). No leaks. It’s cellophane outer wrapped. Tasted good but I can't compare to others as this is my first time buying with comb. I will try and use a little of this to try and attract bees to a new beehive box I have.

Very tasty honey and the comb adds a nice chew factor. Container is a plastic box wrapped in cellophane. There was honey between the cellophane and the box which made it messy and a bit more difficult to open.

This edible honeycomb is a delicious and unique treat. It has a great texture and taste, and is a fun way to enjoy honey. The only downside is the price, which is a bit high for the amount of honeycomb you get.

This has been my first encounter with linden honey, which I learned is made from the blossoms of linden trees. I think I have usually had clover or wildflower honey. I’m a convert. This honey is lighter, more delicate. I’d describe the flavor as floral and perhaps a little citrusy. The comb is soft and not waxy. It goes well on everything, but I like it especially on multi-grain toast. Ironically, I live in Wisconsin but couldn’t find honeycomb locally that I liked. Then I saw this Wisconsin-made honey on Amazon at a very reasonable price and decided to give it a try. I’m very glad I did.

When I opened up the container for this product I was a bit disappointed. One third of the honeycomb was totally dried up and the whole thing looked like it had been sitting on a shelf for a long time. However, I did taste some of it and it tasted fine. The other honeycomb products I’ve ordered from Amazon looked fresh and full. I doubt I would ever buy from this company again.

The product is good, but we feel a little expensive.
