Huge improvement over the stock bead sight!
Huge improvement over the stock bead, and it fits the barrel perfectly. Even though i purchased the non tritium version, it is still very bright.. highly recommend!

A review of the XS SIGHTS Big Dot Shotgun Front Sight in Bright Yellow
I recently purchased a Mossberg 590 FLEX Tactical 12 gauge shotgun that has a tiny little bead as the front sight. Since it was difficult to see that little bead I searched and found XS SIGHTS. There were several choices and I decided to get the Big Dot Yellow sight. What a difference!! It is really bright and very easy to see. Since XS SIGHTS is very popular I was able to find YouTube videos that showed how to install the front sight on my shotgun. It really is easy to install and the whole process was a breeze. This shotgun is going to be my home defense weapon and that Big Dot Yellow sight is very visible in the dark so I will have no issues with aiming at my target. I recommend XS SIGHTS if you want to greatly improve your front sight over that tiny little bead!!

The sight is good and bright...but there was an issue.
The sight is just what I wanted and expected...with one minor issue. The pros: The yellow sight takes very little ambient light to get it to glow, and it glows in the dark afterward. It's quite effective for what I needed, and I wanted the extra height (actual is .30"). Installation could be relatively easy, even though you have to clean the parts, barrel and epoxy the sight. I had one issue that's noted below. The con: Installing this on a Mossberg 500 required I use the included replacement bead. It appeared to be the correct thread but it had been cut through at the threads. It wasn't clean, easily fixable, nor beveled at the lead thread. The result was that I couldn't screw it in. Secondly, even if I could have used it, there was very little thread to work with. Comparing them, the threaded area of the XS bead was just a tad shorter than my Mossberg bead. The fix: I was getting ready for a trip. Rather than risk getting another like it from the vendor, I filed down/rounded the hex area of my Mossberg bead and then drill-widened the hole in the sight. Problem solved, though it took time and care to do it. I'm not suggesting this be the route to take. I'm just noting what I elected to do. To be fair, I didn't try to contact the vendor. Had my bead work not appeared adequate, before epoxying it, I would have contacted them.Lastly, for the Mossberg, I used a 4mm socket to remove my bead. I put masking tape against the face of the socket so as to not mar the barrel, and this worked perfectly. I've watched videos of others using small pliers and, having seen it happen, scratching the barrel is a real possibility. The bottom line is I really like the sight. It's not a true night sight unless it's been illuminated by light. Then it glows for some time after light is removed/shut off. I knew all that beforehand and only gave it four stars because of the bead I received.

excellent upgrade
I wanted bigger sites but did not want the huge ghost ring setup. This is a great middle choice. I was very impressed with how easy it is to install. The big secret is to clean the front sight area and degrease before installing it. The other tip is to clamp the site on after you put on the epoxy. You don't need much pressure. Just enough to keep it tight. I'm very impressed with it. I'll probably get a couple more for my other scatter guns.

Stripped the threads out in the barrel
The Bebe sight did not fit my mossberg 500 the threads on the Bebe are not right. I took my time and made sure it was not cross threaded when I finally got it lined up, I tightened it and you have to us a pair of pliers or something to grab onto it with. It stripped the threads out in the gun. I did not put it in fully because I could feel something was wrong. I put the stock one back in and at least you can grab onto that one. It was lose and would not tighten like it did before. So I had to put lock tight on it to keep it from backing out. But didn’t have to do that before.

Great sight upgrade
My Mossberg came with a tiny brass bead. I upgraded to this for easier target acquisition. Installation was easy. Removed the old sight with socket. Cleaned the area (barrel and base of sight) to be glued with rubbing alcohol. Installed the bead that’s provided. Mixed JB Weld and filled the hole where the bead goes in the base of the sight and all the surface area of the base. Secured the base on the barrel with blue painters tape once I was content with the position of the sight. Waited 24hrs before I messed with the sight. It seemed rock solid.

Almost perfect sight upgrade!
I give this sight a 9.9 out of 10 and the only reason it is not a 10 is because the tritium version has to be a perfect 10. I pass my 500 around to anyone at the range to let them try this sight and they are all amazed by bright and easy to see the dot is. Any shotgun I get in the future will have this or the tritium version on it.
