Generally I don't bother to mention this point but this time I'm not happy at all.I have provided the index. Check by yourself then buy it..

I am from science background... Before purchasing it i was lil hesitate about this book that it would be so technical and more of commerce terminology but believe after going through few chapters I realized that in this book how simplified and crystal explanations given on each topic now that i have book got so fascinated and it is really good everyone who are preparing for any type of govt job related financial institutions i.e sbi, rbi or lic, sebi or any others, it really worthy

Books is not student frndly and not exam oriented... Language used is kind of editorial type with parallel writing style.. Explaining and complicating unnecessary topics but Missing on many pin point information necessary for UPSC csat exam. Overall appearance of writing is not gregarious enough for naive studends... I dislike...EditNo duration of MPLAD n validity of funds is mentioned.No clr diff betwn disinflation n deflation.Definition of GDP GNP NNP etc unnecessarily complicated.Exact details of various comissions asked in exams is not outlined..Feels like copied n paste text.Its better to note the index page n read from internet...Edit..No mention of merger of NSSO n CSO is gvn.. No functions are defined... Bud loads of unnecessarily details are given... All details abt CPI WPI is given but author hansnt told who collects.. Complies n publishesh the dataCorrect me if i m wrong.

This is a very good book on economics especially for those who are just starting to read on the subject of economics. It's very textual so that you understand the concepts properly and is backed by data, both static and dynamic. Reading this book does not make you feel that economics is a difficult subject.The paper quality, the binding and the printing of the book are also good. Overall a good book on Economics for beginners if you're preparing for your Civil Services Exam. You can check the contents of the book from the index pics and see if it's relevant for your study. An excellent book for Indian Economy but you must have some basic knowledge of economics....you should go for a micro and macro economics book first...that will help you in understanding each and everything in this book.Let me clear more...read principles of microeconomics by N. Gregory Mankiw first...then read this.
