Read for Some Information but Not a Cure All
Approach the book with a pinch of salt...while the author writes well and lays out the information in an interesting way, I would not agree with some of his recommendations. In particular, he recommends a range of shoes that one might consider, and solutions such as going barefoot.STOP. Going barefoot in Vibrams actually precipitated my heel pain issues - so I doubt if I would ever go that way again, especially if you're attempting to do a lot of walking and exercise. If anything, the conventional advice to wear padded slippers as I do now, has helped immensely. The author doesn't explain how going barefoot would assist people with arch problems either.I found this book on Amazon more practical - the Plantar Fascitis Survival Guide - http://www.amazon.com/Plantar-Fasciitis-Survival-William-Prowse-ebook/dp/B008UYV27S/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1404751502&sr=1-1&keywords=plantar+fasciitisBut I'd recommend anyone to do more research and find the right solution. I have tried ESWT, scraping, ice, foot inserts, etc - and the cause of my heel pain is a tight Achilles Tendon. No-one told me that and I had to figure that out by myself, even with medical professionals.

Excellent
At first I thought this book read like an ad for Vibrams but now I could kiss the author! I've been struggling for a year with plantar fasciitis - getting shots in my heel, buying special shoes, you name it, I tried it. I found a pair of Vibrams on clearance for $32 and decided to give them a try. I immediately felt a difference. No heel pain, no arch pain, no excruciating calf pain while running. After reading this book I feel like I'm on the road to recovery and getting my fitness life back. Thanks to the author for writing such a simple, helpful book.

Essential reading for anyone with Plantar Fasciitis
This book is a life saver for anyone with a severe case of Plantar Fasciitis. I read the book cover to cover and carried it around with me for my first several weeks of the program. The author is very detailed in what Plantar Fasciitis is, and how to treat it at home. All of the tips helped, but the biggest change for me was the recommendation to wear barefoot or minimalist shoes. That helped immediately. I've never worn flip-flops before (try Okabashi's Maui to help with Plantar Fasciitis healing at home.) I never realized that my expensive sneakers were weakening my feet. Walking in my Okabashi shoes exercises my feet and significantly helped me start the long road to healing. The author also debunks some myths about Plantar Fasciitis. This book is worth every penny, and will surely help you get your health back on track.

Good alternative to drs
I have been struggling with this for several months. I found the splint did not work as making muscles static was causing more pain.I’ve tried this for a week plus and the pain is diminishing and sometimes gone for a while.

Excellent book
Is exactly what I'm looking to cure my foot pain, I mean, it shows how to make it stronger and I learned something new. I have started to do my excercises!!In six week I really expect to be 100% healthy because I'm doing all the steps.

Worked surprisingly well
I have suffered from plantar fasciitis before and it took a year to get over it. The reason I got it was that I played squash and it inflamed the foot. After I got over it the first time, I was doing okay and started to play squash again. However, about a year later, it was inflamed again. I thought I would just play on through it but it just got worse and worse. I wondered what I was going to do and since I wasn't overly impressed by the last foot specialist I went to - they just taped my foot, I decided to go to Amazon and have a look around. I bought some special socks and devices to sleep in and then bought another book on the subject as well. I was however attracted to the title that used the words, "6 weeks". So I gave it a go. It was counter intuitive as most would say to wear well supported shoes, arch supports and so on and he suggested barefoot kind of shoes such as Xero. So I did my exercises each morning and sometimes during the day, tried walking around the house barefoot, limited my walking and other exercise and thought, "It is only 6 weeks!" I did read later that it might be 8 weeks! Anyway, 4 weeks went past and no change really. I was in pain and only anti-inflammatory pain killers helped a bit. I was thinking that this was not going to work. I had all these new shoes with no heal and well, perhaps a waste of money. Then strangely, one day (5th week) I thought that it felt a bit better and then it continued to improve. I walk around the house barefoot and when I go outside I have my Xero shoes on. I found the Xero Terraflex the best one for outside as it had more rubber on the sole but now I can use the others that have far less rubber. So today, I am going to play squash. It is approximately 2 and 1/2 months since I started the program. I'm really pleased and would recommend the program.

why should I pay to get products advertised!
Some interesting ideas packaged in a lot of product ads. Impossible to understand the calf exercises without looking on the Web for relevant Videos.
