So sweet for the soul❤️
I loved the gentleness of this book. The sweet, genuine love that rooted by faith was exactly what I was looking for. It wasn’t just a soppy romance book either, it dealt with some dark times and themes that also evolved beautifully. I definitely recommend❤️

So good
The story of Spencer and Sophie is so interesting. I love the way Valerie Bodden writes. This had such good story development at a good pace. The characters also grow throughout the novel. This kept my interest and makes me want to read more from this author.

It is always a blessing to read a beautiful Christian romance. I loved Spencer and Sophie! I look forward to reading about more people living in Hope Springs, a sweet little town.

"Be still and know that I am God."Psm. 46:10
Poor Sophie! She wasted so many years trying to please her cold parents, she lost track of what she wanted and even her reliance on God to guide her. This resulted in dear Spencer's heart being broken and a hole in hers. Her returning to her home town to be with her ailing Grandmother opened her heart to Him and finally to Spencer's...but hesitantly. She had to free herself from old family expectations first. This was a sweet and tender story. Karla B.

Great story, but...
On the plus side, it was well written, and had a wonderful ending. On the negative, however, it could have been told in about 1⁄4 of the time and space. I got bored and skipped over places where they were constantly regretting the time that they had let go by.

Clean romance
Spoiler warning-I liked that Sophie and Spencer finally realized they were meant to be together. They dated in college, she broke his heart and moved to the city while he went back to their small hometown. Years later she returns home due to a family emergency. They reconcile and start dating again. While I did enjoy their love story, I felt like the book was prolonging the story. I read the first few chapters and then skipped to the last three chapters and I felt like I had read the entire book. I didn’t feel like I had skipped any chapters.

Beautifully crafted Spirit filled romance.
I admire greatly the painstaking care that Valerie gives to each of her characters. It always feels to me that the author has to exercise huge self control not to rush on with the story, but dwell in the emotions and tensions that characterise our times of crisis and change. Then, to know when to skip forward, not lingering in unnecessary detail, it’s wonderful. Enjoy, Valerie has full command of her craft.

Good book
Second book I've read from this author. It was good but I think the end was kind of simple, family problems that involves death, sorrows, expectations don't solve that quick. But enjoyable.
