Charlie McCarthy Ventriloquist Doll

I bought this for my grandson. He loves it

My husband mentioned having a Charlie McCarthy doll when he was a child (40 plus years ago) and how much fun he had with it. I chose this one for him as a gift not really expecting much for the price (as compared to the other more 'deluxe' models). I was extremely pleased with the quality of this one when it arrived, it appeared to be well made and worked smoothly. More importantly, my husband said that it just like the one he used to have. Maybe for the serious ventriloquist, a different model might be better but for the beginner or a nostalgic husband this doll was just right. Worth every penny.

I bought this for a four year old little girl. For the money it is durable and fun to use even for someone who is four!! She loves the doll to play with and will get better at using it for it's intended purpose with practice!

Poor quality. Mouth is very hard to open with the string and when you do pull it hard enough to open it all but does a back flip. Clothes are thin and poorly sewn. You can move any arms and that hat always falls off. I would've returned it but my young child still liked the way it looked like a creepy doll from a movie. The pants have already needed mending straight out of the box.

recieved this doll in perfect condition and promptly. was a birthday gift for my sisters 50th birthday, just to bring back a little of her youth when she used to have this doll. It was a big hit.. very happy

This was an incredible doll. My son absolutely loved it. It looks very realistic, yet not creepy like some. It's very easy for my 7 year old to use.

The Charlie McCarthy Ventriloquist Doll is fine for a beginner. It is rather difficult to hold the string to make the mouth move while holding the doll in the upright position. Also, his legs twist as if they are sewn on crooked and his shoes won't stay on. However, he is a LOT of fun to play and practice with.
