smART Pixelator & Pixelator Large Sequin Set

My daughter saved all her birthday money to get this toy. You can do just pegs and use it like a lite brite or do perler beads and make real items. It was so easy to figure out, great app. You can use it without app too. She’s delighted with it. You would definitely want to buy a peg/bead kit or big tub of perler beads. They don’t give you enough in here to really have fun. We bought the sorting kit with it that has a mix of beads, pegs and sequins. So far, so good.

Overall a great well made product. These are thinner and taller• the overall concept is great except when you try to use it with the light on. Unless you stay in one spot it looks like it is off the pattern and when the beads are on the machine you can’t tell the difference between the empty and filled ones.•Because the beads are thinner and taller they get knocked down more than they stay upOverall this is a great product but definitely needs an upgrade and change on a few of the features.

I bought this for my children ages 12, 10 and 6. They already have the smart sketcher which they absolutely love! This turned out to be another winner! It really brings out the artistic talent in each kid. The lit up background makes it even more fun. I highly recommend this toy for giving kids hours of fun and a great way to show off their designs which they can then keep for a very long time!

Warning! To avoid tears when your child attempts to build their first pixelator, buy extra beads because the unit doesn't include enough to build even one thing. Very disappointing! Why would they do that? The picture of it show way more beads than are actually included. It shoe that the makers of this care more about profit than their customer. I am angry.

Really brings this craft to a new level! I’ve been doing craft as a teacher for a while now and have done a lot of melty beads on the regular plastic boards in many ways but this adds a whole new dimension to what I can do with my students now! Really fun!

Doesn’t work with actual perler beads so that’s kinda lame- you have to buy their brand. It comes with enough for like 2-3 projects as long as you don’t care about using the same color through the whole project. Whenever we tried to upload a picture onto it it came out super dark with tons of black so I asked the company what was wrong. Their answer was that it has to compile all the colors into 16bit so try a different picture. We’ve tried like probably 30 and they all come out looking like a dark pop art picture. Its not a complete waste of money because there’s a lot of projects pre-built into the pixelator, but the make your own picture feature definitely doesn’t work. I would not recommend it for anything but the built in projects and it’s not great value for your money, but my child likes it at least

My daughter was coveting this for her 8th birthday. When she got it, she was so disappointed because the SD card it came with was not working. I emailed the company and they sent out a new SD card right away. I’m very pleased with their customer service.

Wouldn't recommend. Beads are absolutely tiny so not the same as hama beads and become rather expensive to keep stocking up on. 1st time my daughter used it she picked a pre set design and there wasnt even enough beads with it to complete 1 picture. Only works 50% of the time, rather rubbish

Had to send first one back as had a fault. Doesn't work with normal hama beads, you have to purchase the mini hama beads, which is a pain when your child has thousands of midi beads and no mini beads. Wouldn't say it's worth the money really.

We have hamma and aquabeads so appeal was the ipad connectivity and use of own pics. I can see the potential, but its let down with the supply issue of getting more beads. They are deffo smaller then hamma so more fiddly, but can get past that too as allows for better detail. More beads is main prob as just enough to keep you going. Not interested in the pegs/sequences avble

Beads are a lot smaller than hamma beads which makes them more fiddley. The first design my daughter chose to do was one of the preloaded ones, and there wasn’t even enough beads with it to complete it. Absolutely ridiculous for her first one! Very disappointed for the price that we paid. When it costs £20 more than just the device itself to get the beads with it, you would expect to get the same amount of beads as buying them separate. Absolute waste of money. Extremely disappointed.
