Really good but could have been 5 stars
This watch mostly does what I want it to do but falls short in a few areas that would really make it 5 stars.I think that it looks quite stylish in the bronze/black style that I purchased. The 4 clear protective watch face covers that are part of the combo offer are basic but work. There is a little air trapped around the outer edge of the watch but I might have been able to prevent that when I applied it. It’s barely noticeable and the cover has not slipped or moved with over a month of use. I believe that I got the “better” included plastic watch band but it still chafes my wrist over night when I tighten it to get my sleep data. I tried to get the chafing in the included picture. Also the light used to monitor the pulse seems to dry out my skin underneath the watch. The sleep data is great when it works and is one of the main reasons I bought the watch. However there is no way to indicate to the watch when you are going to bed each night (other than setting a general bedtime instead of using continuous pulse tracking which you would have to turn back on in the morning) which they consider a feature. Also you have to lay quietly for 4 hours before it considers sleep to have started. This is a problem if a bathroom trip is needed after midnight as it either says that it didn’t get any sleep data over night or reports that I slept less than 6 hours when I wake up. Neither is very helpful when I actually got 8+ hours of sleep. When it does record data, that data is very well reported and broken out in different sections. That info can also be analyzed in the polar flow app or on the web at Polar.com.The gps distance tracking seems to be very accurate especially compared to my 1st generation Stryd footpod. The circular watch face does not allow as many data fields to be presented per screen as my Polar V800 but I definitely like that you can turn on the backlight continuously during a workout. This is great for me as I do most of my running outside at night. Popping my wrist up every few minutes to try and see info during a run was annoying as there was a delay or nothing each time I raised me wrist to eye level. Yes this does drain the watch faster but even with ‘do not disturb’ set to keep the watch from flashing to save energy and doing no workouts, with continuous Heart Rate tracking on (again another major reason for purchase) the watch has to be charged after less than probably 48 hours. I pretty much have to charge after every workout (which syncs the data as well) so that I have enough power for sleep data and getting through work the next day.One major minor (yep, small detail but very annoying to me) gripe is that there are only 2 digital watch faces and neither one shows seconds! The digital face is hours and minutes and the analog face has a second sweep line but there are no tick marks around the edge at all. Either/both could be fixed and I hope the are.The heart rate tracking seems very accurate as it tracks almost precisely with my Polar H10 chest strap reading when connected to my iPhone for workouts. I use the chest strap to do heart rate variability tracking in the morning when I wake up and the overnight heart rate data from the ignite watch is always in the same range.I have looked at the ‘workout suggestions’ but have not done any. The little stick figure animations for the stretching and lifting workouts look good and the instructions for each action/stretch seem to be well written (I actually stumbled on the written instructions when I tapped on the watch face.)The serene breathing feature is ok but does not really do much as I am not sure where it is tracked over time if at all. The fitness test reports VO2 max which has corresponded to the same test on V800/H10.The bundle includes an external battery ‘cylinder’ which has worked just fine. It charges fairly quickly. It has 4 blue indicator lights to show how much juice it has. I think it takes my iPhone 8 from 20% to high 80% or more when it is fully charged but that is just a guess.Seller got the package to me with everything in working condition and a nice little note in it. Would by from them again. So I am very happy with my purchase and with a few improvements to the software which I don’t think would be very hard (especially the watch faces!) this could definitely be given 5 stars. As of right now it is a solid 4 and I would definitely recommend it to beginning and medium intensity users.

Time/face does not easily auto show
It is difficult and a bit frustrating to get the face/time to show when you bring up your wrist to see the time.It is especially frustrating when in an event and need to see immediate performance.

Great activity and sleep tracker
The watch has been easy to use and super easy to wear. Especially at night to monitor sleep. Sometimes I find the touch screen a little slow to respond but I tend to have the same issue with other touchscreens so that might just be me.

Great features, great price.
The Polar Ignite is an excellent fitness watch. The stats you get after a workout are amazing and very helpful for training. It does everything much more expensive watches do. Great features and great price.
