Great buy
Awesome book! This book a thai cooking bible that basically covers everything you need to know to cook thai food. I do feel the recipes are very simple and summarized so it could be hard to use at first. The book has few pictures but very good recipes that seem to be very authentic. Highly recommended for any cooking enthusiasts of thai food lovers. Writing this review made me crave some Pad thai and mango sticky rice.

This was a gift for my husband and he could not put it down. What a well written cook book and just a beautiful book all around

Great cookbook
Just got this a few days ago and have made two recipes from it (Beef & coconut milk curry, fried pork spring rolls w/ sweet chile dipping sauce). Both were delicious! The book is a very handsome hardcover with gold leafing and many full-color photos. The recipes seem very authentic (although I'm no expert on Thai cuisine) and almost all of them are enticing. My only criticism so far is that the book seems to suffer from a lack of careful editing. The recipe for Beef & Coconut curry, for example, calls for "2 1/2 cups coconut milk (1 pint/600 ml)." A pint (in the U.S.) is 16 ounces, but 2.5 cups is 20 ounces? Perhaps it is an imperial pint (568 ml)? The recipe at one point says "add one cup coconut milk", but never says when to add the other cup, or cup and a half, whichever it is. Many other recipes also call for "a bunch", "a handful", "1.5 shallots." Of course this is common for many cookbooks, and won't be a problem for most experienced cooks. Make a recipe once, and you'll get a very good idea of where amounts need to be adjusted. I just sometimes wish the authors/editors could be a little more precise the first time around.

Solid book for Thai food lovers
Gorgeous book, both as an addition to your counter and the quality of the recipes. If you love authentic Thai food like I do it’s an easy buy. This book contains recipes I haven’t found elsewhere.

Delish! And lovely photo work.
I've been collecting Phaidon's cookbooks based on different countries' cultural cuisines, and this book is no exception. There's a lot of information to read within without being distracting to the recipes, but please read the prefaces and introductions. The information on these pages do explain why they collected certain recipes and not others. There are recipes I doubt I'll find elsewhere because they sought them out with the help of the locals. Pretty much all the ingredients are readily available via local Asian grocers and online stores, including Amazon and ImportFoods.

Absolutely the best Thai cookbook - hands down
Absolutely the best Thai cookbook - hands down. All authentic dishes with easy to understand instructions. The price was also right, it was almost half the cost that was being charged by a bookstore near my home.

Thailand Cookbook. WOW GREAT FANTASTIC
Wonderful recipes that are easy to follow. Nice hardback edition. Well made and binded very well. It was shipped in a nice cellophane wrap around cookbook. Mailing packaging was well done. It shipped quickly.

high quality & authentic
wonderful book, delivery took some time because they were out of stock but I wanted it badly. I'm sure it's usually much faster. The book is amazing, great, authentic (at least I think so) recipes, has some pictures in it and a high quality cover

Vert good book, not recommended for vegetarians
Beautiful book with very good and a lot of recipes. Not recommended for vegetarians as most of the recipes are with fish or meat

Parfait! Nous vivons dans une ville où il est possible de trouver plusieurs ingrédients et des substitutions aux ingrédients plus spécifiques au pays. Nous avons essayé quelques recettes et c’est comme si nous étions au resto. Je recommande à 100%. Je regarde maintenant pour d’autres livres sur d’autres pays de la même maison d’édition . C’est presque devenue une obsession d’acheter d’autres livres tellement je constate que les éditeurs sont soucieux de publier des recettes authentiques . Bref, n’hésitez pas plus longtemps!
