A lovely album
I love this album. I know it got a bad rep by a lot of rock magazines for being too laid back for STP however I feel it shows how talented the band are, that they can produce an album that is fully acoustic and mellow. Also this album has vastly increased my sex life.

Great acoustic album
A great acoustic album. I have all the old loud grunge albums and this is still just as good in a completely different way. If you are a fan of Sons of Anarchy you’ll know the songs that they played on that show. These on this album are like that. Proper cool!

Mostly for the fans, but still just a good album
I wasn't really sure what to expect when I saw this. Whilst they were honest about it very much being a piece of therapy, were they really just looking to wipe the slate clean with songs that rehashed the sound of the Weiland era? Or use it as a primer for the future? Or be a band clinging onto the past and it add nothing of any value? As happened with their terrible last album with Weiland. In reality, it is a mix of the first two.I was quite sceptical at first, thinking the slow pace and delivery pandered to lounge music and a crooner parody. However, that parody was always part of their delivery so I got myself over it. Eventually I also got over what felt like Gutt doing a straight forward Weiland imitation. Yes, Gutt he is impersonating him in places but he also has that natural crooner type delivery anyway. But what the songs show, and is what eventually opened my ears, is that STP were clearly always greater than the sum of their parts. The songs, even acoustic and with flutes, feel like STP. So what if they are channelling Weiland at times?I miss him as a fan and they have every right to do so if this is what this album is meant to resolve. It must be tough being angry with someone for harming the band but at the same time appreciating the success he helped bring. As well as lamenting what could've been with Beddington. And it is exactly this that is woven into the album and, as they said, it is a slice of therapy. There is genuine sadness in the songs. The title track especially and I didn't realise just how moving I found it. That it could be both Weiland or Bennington's imagined words make it all the more tragic. There is also hooks and melodies that lift the whole thing in places too, so it isn't an entirely maudlin affair. What it is, is typical STP. Which is a good thing.I've seen reviews slating it, but they were certain mainstream press who never had a good word to say about the band previously anyway. My feeling is that yes, it stands on its own merits but fans will also get more from it, 'get it' more. Which is just fine by me. Typical STP, it's a bit of a patchy affair with inconsistent quality, but I don't care. It stands deserved with the best of their back catalogue.Fair thee well lads.

Super chilled out
This was not what i was expecting, maybe if I'd looked into it more thoroughly i would have had a heads up. It is very very mellow, like a couple of friends jamming on your porch, reminiscing and melancholic over lost loves. I'm not saying it's bad because it isn't, i just need to be in the right mood to listen to it. For those that enjoy this i can fully understand why, I'm just not in that place yet.

Another great STP album.
Second album with the new singer and it's another beauty. Not a rocker, but mainly acoustic. This doesn't disappoint however when the songs, melodies and playing is supurb from start to end. A great band.

easy listening
easy listening, it is a departure from the older style of stone temple pilots works, not what i was expecting.

Robert Sings!
"Years" is worth the price of admission on its own. The long-mooted solo album has never happened but, as a fan of many years, it's great to hear R Deleo do his own thing. Effortless class and refinement in a shoddy world. Is this STP at their best? Of course not. Does it contain many moments of craft and quality? Of course it does.

Vale cada centavo
Um dos melhores discos do STP dos ultimos anos. Mistura fases acusticas que a banda cuidadosamente talhou ao longo dos anos, especialmente nos discos Purple e Shangri La Dee Da
