Amazing guitar and value
Purchased in March of this year after extensive research. I’ve had an American made Guild D-4 for about 25 years and thought it was time for an upgrade and add an A/E to my mix. Couldn’t be happier. Played great out of the box, but after a month or so as the wood started to settle, I had a full setup done. Amazingly beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Definitely recommend Seagull as a whole and this guitar in particular.

I’m very picky, and repair and restore guitars.
And this Seagull guitar is excellent. Plays like a dream with the wider neck and even the factory setup. It sounds great now with amazing sustain even brand new. When the maple and Sitka spruce mature it will be perfect. The tuner and bridge pickup work very well. An excellent value.

About as Good as it Gets!
For the record, I have been a BIG fan of Seagull Guitars for years... A long time ago, I sold my Maritime and regretted it 5 minutes after! But my new Performer Series in the cutaway dread is just unbelievable and the sound is darn near perfect and it looks stunning with the maple and spruce top. Other than the need for tuning, this was the first guitar I've ever bought, that was set up perfect out of the box!! Are there better acoustic electrics, I imagine so, but for 2-3 times the money. For the dollars, it gets NO better! These ARE hand made in Canada, not some factory piece in China, there IS a difference! Great going Godin/Seagull!

Amazing guitar in so many ways
I purchased this guitar based on others comments since their is no local dealer with them in stock. Amazing guitar in so many ways, I've now had it for 1yr and it's stability of staying in tune is better than my Taylor's or Washburn. QI electronics right their with many Fishman products on other makes, very comfortable neck, very responsive truss rod for neck setup, and the wood is beautiful. Now I've played many fine guitars over the last 50 years. For the price the value shines with the Canadian produced Godin Guitar. I would buy again in a heartbeat if something happen to my Seagull CW Flame Maple HG QI.

Great sound in a beautiful instrument!
This is a wonderful instrument! The control of the tone is fabulous, and I have been able to play a variety of styles with great sound. I plan to work with a local luthier to refine it still more, but am very pleased with it.

Nice Guitar
* Good craftsmanship - glossy blonde flame maple finish and head stock look cool. The neck on my guitar is especially nice. Subtle patterned maple with a super smooth finish and excellent joinery. * Feels and plays very comfortably, especially flat picking. 1.8" nut width just like S6. Action may be a tad high for fast chord work but acceptable right out of the box. Cannot resist picking it up every time I walk by it. * Cutaway allows playing past the twelfth fret, something I cannot do with my S6 very easily. * Sounds good unplugged. Not as loud as my 1995 S6 possibly because of the cutaway. Sounds great plugged in to my Fender Deluxe. Active pickup more prone to feedback at higher volumes than my S6 fitted with passive piezo pickup. * Intonation is nearly perfect, much better than my old S6 that plays slightly sharp at the higher registers requiring compromise tuning (even after intonation adjustment). Not a problem with this guitar as tune seems perfect up and down the neck. * Mine had Q1T electronics with a tuner installed. Battery is apparently inside the sound hole in a Velcro bag. Not accessible from outside the guitar. Wish it had external access. Annoying but not a big deal. Electronics are always 'on' when plugged in as there are only two modes - active and tuner. You need to unplug to maximize battery life. * Came with a beautiful gig bag. * Overall four plus stars. Unplugged the sound is very good. Plugged in it rocks - really good sounding. Beautiful to behold. It even smells great. Setup may need a trip to the Luthier to lower the action a smidge but that may just be my personal preference. Needs external battery access. * November 2019 - follow up on my previous review - I had Adam Buchwald, Circle Strings Guitars in Burlington set up the guitar, including lowering the action to perfection. Adam is one of the finest luthiers in the country and I was lucky that he found time to work on it. The guitar is now about as good as a guitar can get. Neck is dead straight and action is uniform across the neck. The best playing and sounding guitar I have ever owned. I LOVE it. You would love it too. * January 2021. The guitar sounds even better after a year of playing it. You have to watch for feedback if you plug it into a large amp in a small room. Surprised the price has increased so much since I bought mine a year or so ago. It was a steal at $599. At its current price there may be more competition. Still it is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar. 2023 update. Sanded down the bridge a bit to lower the action. Like all Seagull guitars it just sounds better and better with age. It is my #1 guitar. I play it every day and with the choir (mostly lead work) on weekends, plugged in. Could not like it better.

Seagull guitar
This is my 2nd seagull guitar. I loved my acoustic mini jumbo so much that I wanted to get a seagull acoustic/electric. This seagull guitar lived up to my expectations. It's well made, stays in tune and sounds wonderful. Everyone who has tried my seagull guitars all agree that they are exceptional and some went on to buy their own. These guitars are hand made in Canada are not poorly constructed guitars made in China. I highly recommend buying this guitar or other seagulls.

Seagull is one of the best!
This guitar is absolutely amazing! The tone, the feel, setup right out of the box, and ideal string space and neck width for fingerstyle playing! Second Seagull I have owned and I am truly pressed every time.
