Well used, accurate and it held up to being stuffed into my bag every day for a month.
I went to Ecuador for about a month. It was accurate, informative and well used. It is in good condition after being continually stuffed into my bag and read almost every other day. I would have liked a bit more of current history, and an idea of the importance of the dates that so many roads are named after. I learned a bit of what President Rafael Correa has done and it has made an amazingly productive society and country. The book guided me well and has excellent tips and suggestions of places of interest.Well done! I will get another when I visit another country.

Accurate/up-to-date
I was in the Galapagos for 9 days, and Guayaquil for a day. This book was perfect for this purpose, accurate/up-to-date. Guayaquil is a bit of a confusing place, so I think there could be ways to help the user, but overall, I was happy with it. I saw other travelers with it as well, who had longer trips, and they also were happy with it.

Useful for going to Galápagos Islands
We bought this guide before traveling to Galápagos Islands last January. As we only visited Galápagos, we did not use three quarters of the guide (all chapters referring to continental Ecuador). However, it was really useful. We always had it in our backpack. It effectively reccomends places to stay and eat, and spots to visit (with useful city maps for some of the islands). Some prices may be a little outdated which is reasonable. It has a nice little chapter about fauna and flora.Reccomend. I guess I would buy it again.

Buy this early in your planning
Book has been worth EVERY penny, have gotten many ideas for our trip from it. Taking it with us with tabs marking things we want to be sure not to missDo not buy this book the day before your trip, take your time to go through it (we bought it a month ahead of time)

A plethora of information in this guide. The authors were very thorough with providing historical information, where to go, how to interact with the locals, what to expect, generic maps, etc. The authors must have visited every city, and attraction. I hope this guide comes in handy when I get to visit Ecuador.

OK guide, but unless you plan spending months in these places, too much detail on trivia.
Since Eyewitness Guides doesn't do Ecuador and the Galapagos, I was forced to fall back on Lonely Planet. Some useful information, but a lot of garbage neither desired or practical. OK, but not great.
