Mounting instructions beware
No complaints about the motor itself, just be aware that the instructions for mounting are printed on the inside lid of the box! Which is printed very small on the edge of the lid...should be larger and on the front of the box!

Check return policy before purchase.
First time on the water, motor worked great. Second time, a component of the little plastic u-joint that allows the tiller to articulate and to select speed, shot out of it the housing. Luckily, it landed in the boat.I bought a new motor because I did not want to work on a motor, so I decided to return. While requesting the return, I was reminded that the motor was purchased from a third-party seller and the return policy is much more thorny than for Prime. It was likely going to cost me shipping for a 40-plus pound item. Seller offered to send me the part, which was not the issue. Killing an afternoon fixing it when I could have been fishing was the issue. I was frustrated to say the least. But the afternoon did not die in vain. After a few hours of tinkering and cussing, the motor appears to be working as it should—for now.Reminder: it’s always a good idea to check return policies for third-party sellers prior to purchase. Doubly so for pricier items.
