Hometown Foods Jim Dandy Quick Grits, 5 lb

I grew up on Quaker Oats grits for breakfast and couldn't imagine eating grits made by any other company. Then suddenly grits became a side dish for an expensive shrimp dinner, Quaker Oats jacked up the price and I went in search of other options. Jim Dandy did not disappoint.

This is the only grits my husband and I eats. I grew up in Japan and was only introduced to grits when I met my husband who is from Texas. We live on the East coast and during winter, it’s our main breakfast go to item. I love with eggs and a sprinkle of cheese.

It is definitely a good value. It tastes different from the more popular brands, but then I realized that is for a good reason. It is not as processed as the more popular brands. And it is more filling, so that's a bonus. I will repurchase as needed.

My mom moved in and she likes grits every day. I was buying small boxes of grits at the grocery store so when I saw this huge bag of grits I bought it. I was afraid I’d have to experiment with the water ratio for our own tastes but the instructions on the bag were perfect. I cook them for eight minutes which is exactly how long it takes me to fry the bacon and the eggs. If you enjoy grits and need a big bag, search no more.

As much as I absolutely LOVE Jim Dandy Grits, I will never purchase from this seller EVER AGAIN. I only bought this because it's the best brand of grits and because it's been super hard to find in the stores. I ordered once before from a different seller and it came in a box upon delivery in perfect condition. This time it was in a "bag" with no protection around it. I just knew from the sound of it that there was a mess inside. THERE WAS A HUGE MESS INSIDE! Grits everywhere. I can't even return it to the seller.....grrrr. I paid too much for something I love to have this kind of mess that I can't use. RETURN MY MONEY!!!
