Works once in a while!
I really don't get it why this device is this expensive and rather than that, why it's not working well!!The LED on the device shows that I've put my FT7 on it correctly and it sees it but it doesn't transfer data via the software...It works once in ten times though! When it works it's good, but it doesn't work always and I found that you need to detach/attach it to get it to work! It's frustrating for a person like me who works out every day and wants to see the results and how much calories burnt in several different sessions once a day!The reason it's not working might be because I put my PC on sleep/hibernate usually rather than shutting it down... But anyways... I'm not gonna change my habit because of this! :|I'll probably gonna return this.

Product Fantastic!!
I got my Polar FT60 3 days ago and I took the advise of one of the reviewers and downloaded websynch 2.0 (etc) from polar site, then shut my computer down and then logged back on, I did this before the product even arrived. When my watch came, yes the instructions are poor, I am not a techi but I made my way through it. Yes indeed the flowlink instructions are nonexistant as well, I did use that same reviewers suggestion and put the Flowlink on a plastic lid, placed the watch face down and hit download on the icon now on my computer and bingo, worked like a charm. There is so much information on the polarpersonaltrainer.com site and really no explaination of all the features. Most reviewers stated the customer service at polar is poor. Well I just spent over an hour on the phone with Connor, he was fantastic, he explained how I can use all the features, he explained all the terms on the "diary", then took me through the different graphs, and summaries. I am now even more excited. The one awesome feature to the watch/program is that over several months the targets will adjust based on my workout habits, because just after 2 days of use I have blown out the percentages and will be so over the maManximums for the week, but Connor explained that these values will self adjust. Many reviewers stated who couldn't get the flowlink to work that they will just creat their own spread sheet. From my perspective there is no spread sheet that can give all the information that the polarpersonaltrainer.com site can give.Because I did not purchase the footpad the distance does not automatically calculate and display in the "diary", but Connor told me that I can manually input this information so that at the end of each work out/then week I can still have a distance number..Great information to know. You may wait a while for customer service but when they come on the phone if you get a gem like Connor he was knowledgeable, patient and more then willing to walk me through the site. I give Polars customer services 5 Thumbs UP!I am glad I purchased the Flowlink and grateful to the reviewer who had success!! thank you. Unfortunately if I would have gone based on the reviewer % I would not have purchased the flowlink...but I went ahead anyway based on the few positive reviews.I will update this review in a couple of months to let you know if the program does indeed self adjust based on my work out routine.

Works Great!
I purchased this item to upload the training data from my Polar FT60 training computer/watch. I had assumed that the watch came with a USB cable or something, so was a little disappointed that I had to spend another $50 to transfer my data. Not Polar's fault, I didn't read the description well enough.Once the software was downloaded and installed from Polar's site ([...]), I plugged in the device and it immediately installed. I set the watch on the device as described, and the indicator immediately turned green. Syncing the data was effortless and easy. I've syncronized my watch quite a number of times now and have had no issues. The USB cord is a little short, but a long cord really isn't necessary unless you plan to install this permanently somehow. One thing to note is that the cord is attached at the device, so if you're rough on your electronics and fray/break/cut the cord somehow, it's not a simple swap. Would have been nice if it was a standard micro-USB cable or something. The device itself is nice looking, and won't stand out in a sea of electronics and other lighted gadgets.Even though this really is the only way to transfer data from your Polar devices that need it, I would recommend this item.

Surprisingly effortless functionality
Initially, I was unhappy that this wasn't included with my FT60, but I decided to take the risk and get it anyway. I say "risk" because I was SO perturbed by the virtually useless upload capabilities in the old F11 with its "buzzing" audio upload into a microphone that would take 4-8 attempts every time I wanted to upload, it would constantly error out and I just gave up on the web capabilities; so I certainly wasn't willing to pay EXTRA this time for another experience like that.Fortunately, that wasn't the case; this device is perfect and embarrassingly easy to use: download the small program, install it, give it your login/watch data and then you just sit the watch on the device and DO NOTHING. Literally, do nothing--no buttons to push, no tricks, no hassles, no errors. It just works.I am elated that Polar has improved this function. If, as I was, you're on the fence whether the Polar Personal Trainer and the additional accessory is worth it, delay no further, I think you will be very happy with the Flowlink, and the feedback you receive from the web app is informative and will help keep you motivated.
