Very nice looking, on a budget. The inward curves are hard to sharpen, but the overall effect is striking for relatively modest materials.

Excellent product. Done detailed and a beauty

I was in need of a good knife which was visually attractive as well, for ceremonial and magic work (especially cutting of negative psychic connections). This piece definitely fits the need of a well-built and beautiful knife. The Damascus pattern is quite beautiful and seems to be well made - I do not see any issues with the forging (such as de-lams), but this is just on a visual inspection without magnification. The wavy, kris-style blade makes for a beautiful piece as well. The handle is very comfortable and has a nice sheen and slightly yellow-ish cream color. The knife is well balanced, with the balance point being right at the forward half of the hilt.It is important to remember that this blade is not made from stainless steel. It is high carbon steel and, as such will need some care. If you won't be using it, or you're storing it for a while, be sure and oil the blade to prevent rust.The leather sheath appears to be very well made, using good quality leather. There is double stitching around the sheath as well as a tooled pattern around the edges of the sheath. Though it appears to be well made, the leather does feel slightly dry and I will be putting some Lexol leather conditioner on it.There are a couple of things that kept me from giving the knife 5 stars. While the blade is pretty sharp, it could use some refining as it is slightly rough (the edge grind), but I've got a rod sharpener which should smooth that out nicely. The other issue is the very tip appears to be broken off (see 2nd photo above) - it may have banged against something during handling after forging. But it's only about 1mm or so (at least that's what it looks like) and I should be able to put a point on there easily using a carborundum whetstone. I suppose I could have tried to return it due to the point issue, but I am choosing to not bother with it as it should be an easy fix.Overall, I'm quite happy with this knife and plan to have it for a long time.
