Defective right out of the box
I ordered this charger so that I could charge my 18V Black&Decker batteries in a shorter time since I have several battery-powered B&D gardening tools and several batteries, but only the B&D chargers that came with the tools that charge at a very slow rate (maybe 10-14 hours for a full charge). I also purchased two new batteries when I purchased this charger, which was actually what triggered the purchase of this charger. I was not using my tools very much at the time, but first charged both of my new batteries with my new charger. Everything seemed fine, first the red light on the charger came on, indicating it was charging, then the green light came on, indicating the batteries were charged. At first use, my batteries worked, after another charge, they did not. I first thought that my new batteries were defective. It took me some additional testing with different batteries and charges to figure out that my new batteries were fine, but the problem was the new charger had I bought. The new batteries first worked since they came with an initial charge, but they quit working after I depleted them since my new charger would not recharge them, although the LED's on the charger come on like it was. By the time I figured all this out, I was outside the return window. Now, I am stuck with a boat anchor. I guess, my only option at this point is to throw it out. This charger is junk, and buying it was a total waste. Based on the product rating and the reviews, it appears that this charger works for most people, but I found several reviews just like mine, where the LEDs work, but the charger does not.In summary, be aware if you buy this charger. You are taking a risk that the charger you are buying won't work.
