Update 2: After a couple of years of great cold Brew out of this unit, I used warm water to clean it and it cracked, probably because it was cold right out of the fridge. I take full responsibility for this and am just posting it to warn you against using warm or hot water while your jug is cold. I just placed an order for a new one. I cannot live without my cold Brew.Update: while the filter is in, the lid will not stay locked on. This is a minor inconvenience. Just don't pick up the jug by the lid and there is no issue. The filter is the reason I purchased this and it works fabulously. I fill it halfway with grounds and use my faucet's sprayer to fill the jug through the filter/grounds. I put a folded paper towel on top before closing the lid to steep, usually for 12 hours. The paper towel ensures that the grounds stay submerged. I would recommend this for anyone who wants home cold brew and I would purchase again if I broke or lost this. It is fabulous for my daily fix.Out of the box, not expecting greatness after reading these reviews. I left water in the jar and hung it in the sink overnight. No leaks the next morning. There is a tag on the spout warning me to not twist the valve the wrong way. Noted. I twist the lid and it would not tighten down. I assumed that the filter was to blame, and sure enough, after removing the filter, the lid went on fine. I replaced the filter and the lid tightened on again. That might be something that Godinger should warn people about so they stop writing negative reviews when they can't figure it out. I am brewing my first batch and it's going well. I am a long time cold Brewer. 1/2 pound of course grounds freely steeping in a gallon for 12 hours. Tedious filtration finally got me looking for this solution and so far I like it. More to come.

I loved this cold brewer. Worked better than the expensive ones. Easy to use. Cold coffee ready on 12 hours. Just don't drop. Mine sadly broke after years of use.

This does exactly what it says it does. I thought it was leaking in my refrigerator, but that was only because I didn’t close the spout all the way. It doesn’t leak. It’s a little difficult to know that the spout is completely clean, but I guess that’s to be expected with this design. My only really issue with it is that it comes out the spout ridiculously slowly. To fill my cup up, I have to sit down in front of the fridge with the door open and wait at least 3 minutes (closer to 5 if I’m using a big travel cup) for my cup to fill up. I mean, you could stand there, but if you have my back, you kinda can’t. So, now I’m in search of one with a wider spout. 😒 But other than that, it’s perfect. The flavor is so good! The description is correct, cold brew is so much less bitter! Delicious!*EDIT: The spout started leaking the second week I had it. I have to keep a towel under it in the refrigerator or it makes a HUGE mess. 🙄 Not really worth the money, honestly. Removed stars for this.

I received my coffee cold-brew package quickly and set it up soon after. The first time I used it, it leaked all over my fridge. The coffee was coming out from under the spigot at the seal. I was not happy at all, hence the 4 star review. I called amazon and they offered to replace it, sending out a new one right away. I received the new one and decided to test it first with water in a controlled experiment before using it, just in case. This one is totally fine with no leak under the spigot. Must have been a fluke. I like the glass container’s design and how easy it was to use. The coffee tasted good and I enjoyed it. Much happier now that it works as I thought it would. It would have been a 5 star review without the issue but it was handled well.

Update. Still works great! Weeks of perfect cold brew. No issues whatsoever. Great product and am thinking about buying 2 more, a second for work and one for home. Takes so much less time to filter grounds out compared to my old home brew system.Looks great. It came intact, with all pieces. Had to tighten the spigot a little bit was expected. I saw a lot of bad reviews but the only one I have seen that was valid was that the lid seems cheep which it does. Other than that I'm very excited and ready to start making cold brew for me and my coworkers.

This is simple enough, however removing filter is a little problematic, after coffee has brewed in refrigerator, full jar has to be removed to kitchen counter near sink to take filter out and not make mess. Lid also needs a sealing washer. Even when tight, coffee can leak out while carrying full jar if accidentally tilted. Jar is naturally a little on heavy side when full. When jar is full, one would expect coffee to pour quickly. However, it pours extremely slow, and one has to hold cup and keep refrigerator door open for longer than desired. Tried to loosen top so air could get in, but that did not help. Spout is too high on side of jar so, when coffee gets below quarter-full, you have to tilt jar. That takes two hands, so someone else has to hold coffee cup! And if you do not wipe spout, it will drip a few drops of coffee onto bottom edge of frig door frame. Messy.NOTE: When first filled jar with water, discovered spout was not tight. Had to pour water out and reach inside to tighten nut while I held spout pointing down. Fortunately, I discovered this before putting it in the fridge!I did not mark Flavor rating above, as that doesn't really have much to do with brewing jar as it does with brand and type of coffee grounds.

My teenagers and I prefer the lack of bitterness cold brew coffee offers, so we got this to quit fighting over the last cup in our smaller Mason jar cold brew jar. The filter is easy to clean and the spout is super convenient so it can stay in the fridge. I would recommend removing the spout weekly or between batches as it can build up in the nut/gasket that holds it in place and inside rhe spout. I soak mine in a hot water & vinegar bath after soap and water. After it dries, there's no soap or vinegar smell/aftertaste.

I've had this cold brew maker for almost 2 years now and it still works great! The inner filter is sensitive so be careful cleaning it and the nozzle is plastic so be careful with that too. As long as you are gentle with it, it works great and is easy to use.
