My daughter loved making the Orbeez Crushkins. It was a fun family activity. Everything worked exactly as advertised

We purchased this to do with our daughter who is 3.5. She loves Play-Doh and making things, we say a commercial for the Orbeez and decided to give it a try. The package came quickly (thank you Prime) and we got to work on it right away. One bummer that we didn't know is that you have to soak the little beads in water for at least 4 hours, we did it overnight and when we woke up it was so cool to see how they grew. My daughter thought they were so cool and just wanted to play with them. The actual process of squishing the beads and putting them into the character mold was a bit messy, but overall it was a fun activity to do together.

My 7 year old daughter LOVES these. It is VERY messy though. They don't turn out looking as nice and bright as in advertising. The crushed orbeez squeeze into a thin area between the outer plastic ball and the inner plastic ball. It is very easy to have some accidentally squeeze out through one of the edges. It also can leave some gaps here and there that just will not fill. Still cute though. If you are NOT going to be doing these and redoing them over and over in a short period of time (maybe within a week), do NOT soak all of the orbeez at once or they will just go to waste. We opened 1 package of each color (you get 2 of each color) and ended up with WAY too many orbeez to use. After a week in a plastic ziplock, the excess water was very cloudy and white and not sanitary looking at all. Maybe you could rinse them off daily to keep that from happening and keep them full of water (or close enough), but I wasn't willing to do that. This was our very first experience with orbeez. So, next time I will only soak half or maybe 1/3 of each package and put the rest away in ziplocks for future use so there is less waste.I have already bought another crushkins set (the pets), so none of this has deterred me from future use. That one is sitting on a shelf waiting for an occasion to be given as a gift though.

Orbeez themselves are a lot of fun. I had high hopes that this would add life to them. Don't get me wrong, the 9 year old had fun doing it. It did not work as described. It was messy, but I am good with that. The finished product came out adorable. You only need to make half (or less) of the Orbeez they include with the kit. It takes 4 hours for them to grow into water beads, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time. You can add a pinch of salt to make them last longer. Our "injector" never worked properly from minute one and the eyes would not stay on. Overall, it kept a 9 year old entertained. I would recommend other Orbeez products before this one.

These are very messy and just not engaging. Checking on the orbeez growth progress was more fun than the crushing and filling of the animals. I would not recommend these

Just what we expected. A gift for my daughters 7th Bday. It kept her busy for much longer than expected. And she can't wait to take it out again. Great buy!
