Marware UpSurge Rechargeable Mini Speaker with 3.5mm Headphone/Audio Jack, Fuchsia/Pink

First, I purchased the Kindle Fire HD thinking the stock speakers would sound great. they are just ok so I purchased some headphones which my puppy ate so I decided to go with something less enticing to her , portable, with great sound. I found it, When I play music from the cloud, laptop or Kindle in my kitchen I can hear it through my whole house. Granted my house is small, but for the size of this wow! The sound quality is excellent. I haven't maxed out the volume so I don't know if on max the sound would distort. The base I awesome. This little guy is not tinny which surprised me. The sound is clear no muddling or anything. It's obviously very portable. The only criticism I have, it's not wireless. The chords that come with it are very short so if that might bother you then it might be a deal breaker. I purchased a much longer chord so I could set the speaker on my nightstand and still use it without fear of damage I.e. accidentally bending the USB plugs etc. If this was wireless I'd pay the extra. However, the rechargeable battery is great. I would never buy another item similar to this without being rechargeable. So, all in all its a great little gem, works splendidly and its cute! All the different colors, well pure icing baby! Being, a girl, yes, men, that is important. One more thing, at the office you can plug it in safely as there isn't any drivers needed to charge it from a computer. The volume can be set low enough so it won't bother anyone else. Enjoy!

This is really a difficult review for me. It's a wonderful little speaker if you can get one that works. For me, that was speaker number 3. The first two speakers would not take a charge. Both worked fine if plugged into an active power source, but wouldn't charge. I actually started to wonder if they even had batteries in them or if they were coming from a recycle center and were not properly refurbished. Fortunately, Amazon's return procedure is a dream, especially for someone like me who would almost rather take a beating than return a mail order item. I had UPS pick up the first item and returned the second via a convenient drop box. The third speaker works flawlessly and I have recharged it multiple times without issue. Had the third speaker been defective I was going to formally complain to Amazon. I don't know if they would have paid attention, but you would think they would care about an item that carries their branded Kindle name. So, while I really do love this little speaker, I have a hard time recommending it due to all of the very well deserved negative reviews. If you are willing to take a chance on possible multiple returns, you may luck out and get a good one. I put your chances at 33%

Get the Pink one. It's a goo buy. Marware UpSurge Rechargeable Mini Speaker I bought the pink speaker. It really boosted the sound on my 7" Kindle HDX which I needed. Fair price and outer shell is made from metal. Overall, a fair deal. Some of the other colors are way overpriced, which is why I bought the pink one. It's easy to spot and works with any device with a headphone jack. It's portable and has skid resisters on the bottom. Hope the battery lasts a few years. BTW, the reviewer who said this does not work with Kindle cases is not true. I have a POETIC case for 7" Kindle HDX and this speaker works fine. The case is great too. I wanted a decent speaker for my Fire HD that happens to sport a hot pink case. This speaker not only matches the case perfectly - it also works with the tablet in the case! The speaker will be great to use for travel, but I'll still look for a higher quality speaker to turn the tablet into more of a stereo sound. For the money, this speaker is powerful enough and the only thing I don't care for is the connection plug size which is WAY too short. Overall great value!

I used this while on vacation and it put out AWESOME sound! This the second compact speaker of this type that I have tried and I am impressed far beyond the other . The quality of sound was good even when playing music loudly.The charge holds for a long time . The compact size is great for travel. I got the hot pink color just so it's easy to find when it is set aside and not in use. My only complaint would be a power cord other than a USB connection, but I just use my Kindle Fire HD power adapter which TRAVELS with me anyway.

It's compact, easy to use, and does what it says it will do. It's not quite loud enough to amplify sound for an outdoor party I don't think, but it's great for my purposes.I got it for my 6 year old daughter so she could listen to Pandora in her room from her Kindle Fire. She uses it when she's in the shower too to sing along, and when she's watching movies. Her older sister steals it all the time and uses it with her iPhone. I got pink because well, I have girls but the color helps me find it!Note it has 2 cables. One to attach to the device ans a small USB charger. Make sure to put a tag on these so you know what it goes to! (I use bread bag closure tags)

Love this little speaker. I was surprised, it has great sound for its size. Quality seems good. It's not too lightweight that it could damage easily, yet not too heavy to be mobile. I originally wanted this for my iPod, and it works great for it. I decided to give it a try with kindle fire hd, and it works great with it too. The only drawback is I have to remove kindle from the standing leather case for it to plug all the way into the Jack. Overall, a great little speaker.

I really was surprised and delighted to hear now beautiful the sound from my Kindle is with this mini speaker. The sound has good bass and clarity without blaring. My only concern is that the battery needs to be recharged with a computer. Travelling with it means searching for a source with which to recharge.It makes my Kindle music beautiful and I can listen to an Audible book while I put on my makeup or wash the dishes.So I love it.
