This book does an excellent job of reviewing the fundamentals of 8th grade level math, science, and English usage and comprehension. Even if you feel confident of your knowledge at this level, this review will be helpful if you are going to take the PSB Practical Nursing Exam. You may be surprised by what you’ve forgotten. Practice tests are presented at the conclusion of each reviewed area, the best way for a student to learn. The free test taking video is an added bonus.

The guide does an excellent job of covering each distinct aspect of the exam, from verbal skills and spelling to earth and space science. The guide includes a practice test after each section, as well as one comprehensive practice test at the end. The "helpful hints" scattered throughout the book are great for clarifying confusing or complex concepts.

I appreciate how the student is immediately introduced to what kind of information will be on the exam and how it has practical ways to study for each section of the test. It is also wonderful to include links to many more online resources that will help with information retention, such as flash cards and cheat sheets.

I like its clarity of layout and emphasis on verbal as well as scientific knowledge.
