Have a 6 yr old Garmin with dead battery which must be plugged-in to work.could not afford new 6 inc Garmin so compared reviews on 5 of these fake ones. Not trusting this, I ran the old Garmin along side of it for a 2 hour trip which is not new to me. It continuously tried getting me off the road for uturns. However, on the way back, it must've re-calibrated to the satellites and was DEAD ON. Pros: Easy to use IF you have common sense or previous GPS experience. The touch screen is MUCH better than the old Garmin which I have to punch hard to make work. Easy to read. Did NOT have to update map. I updated the Garmin but it still did NOT register 2 year old roads which were completed so what's the sense anyway?! CONS: Non-standard bracket is not interchangeable with Garmin brackets I had bought, ie no ball swivel. Manual is useless, you must be patient and practice with it BEFORE you need it. No HOME button??!! Have to look up your saved address to return home- this was the worst thing about it to me. If someone finds out otherwise, please post where it is.CONCLUSION: Will keep it and hope to have no failures. For $50 or so, I am glad I bought it and at this point can recommend. If in a few months it fails to perform on my interstate trip I will re-rate.

Not a good product
First takes a while (5 minutes) to acquire satellite data, which often losses during the trajectory, once you have chosen a destination and for a case has passed the turning point, this GPS doesn't recalculate your new rout and continues to go on the route, even you're away from the area, then losses GPS signal and about 5 or 10 min later start to catch up, which in my case never did. DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY

It Works.
I like the bright clear screen. It does lose location now and then but quickly fixes itself. It's so very nice that the lady in this GPS doesn't yell at me for going over the speed limit. However it does put out warnings which are mostly good but one warning is that it constantly tells me when a red light camera is coming up. I really don't need that warning.

Not a great GPS unit
I've used this unit for several months after replacing one with outdated maps. I found the sunglare shield flimsy and useless. It is not easy to use the music player once you are in navigation mode. I did find some map features useful. It will indicate upcoming exits and lanes on a highway. It is mostly accurate for displaying the current speed limit, except of course temporary reductions in work zones. However, I programmed it to warn me if I exceed the limit by 10%. And it will but it displays it as a % over or under the posted speed and it displays a number in kph. I have the units set to MPH. This is a serious flaw in programming. And it is not easy to find the updates. I probably would not use this on a long road trip. I did find the suction cup for the windshield to be strong. My old GPS and suction cup continued to fall off. I find the features difficult to get to once it is in navigation mode. Maybe with a second person but definitely unsafe to use while a solo driver. Spend the extra dollars and buy a better known brand.

Junk
Hard to imagine how anyone could have given this thing any more than a 1 star review. It's just junk. I used it to map out a trip of about 25 miles to a place that I knew very well how to get to. It started out taking me the right way but then it decided to veer off the highway and travel some back roads. I ignored it and went the best way. I gave it another shot on the way back and again it started out okay then things got weird again. It's convoluted directions would have added another 25-30 miles had I followed them. I bought this as a supplement to Google Maps on my phone but I'll stick with the phone.Besides the non-functional mapping software, it has quite a few other features which I don't need and didn't bother to try out.

Software is oudated and can't be updated
The gps its self waa actually nice but due to garmin having trojans on their network it would not update and was very out dated. The garmin technician wanted me to pay 100 just to fix their problem. I blame garmin not amazon. Aside from software and old maps it is actually a nice device and fit perfectly in my suv.

Too Complicated.
I'm returning this unit. For one thing, I could never get the time set right. I don't think the unit recognizes daylight saving time. Beyond that, this unit is unbelievably complicated to use, plus it has a dozen features I'll never use. I'm used to using Garmin units where you simply turn them on, tap on "Where To?", enter an address, and tap on "Go". Also, the mount is very limited in it's adjustment, and I couldn't get it to fit like I wanted it to. I bought this unit because I wanted a 7" screen, and the price was attractive. It simply wasn't what I expected.

Good item for the value
1) Size is perfect.2) I use it all day long since I am a mobile Signing Agent. Only one address was not able to find after using it a full week all day (about twenty-five trips only one could not find in a relatively new area in town).3) I have to plug it to the power source to turn it on, but it is not a biggie for me.4) I recommend this navigator if you need one.5) Customer Service was very helpful when I needed help.
