Ah, Fermi's original handwriting
This is not only a book but a print copy of Fermi's original handwritings!!! May have much historical value as well as pedagogical.

Such an Uniquely Excellent Text in Quantum Mechanics by a master
Wonderful text. Cuts through mounds of verbiage of introductory books on Q/M to the essential core. Must be read as a synopsis and guide to the subject. This short book gets one rights into it. The books by Van Der Waarden on Sources of Q/Mechanics and the book by Schrodinger nicely supplement this. The finely sculpted book by Dirac Prin of Q/M is the eternally definitive description. Dirac's Lectures in Q/M tackles quantization which played such an important role in later developments. The mathematics of Quantum Mechanics is classical stuff of usual math syllabus in this area, mainly partial differential equations. It is only later developments that sought general properties of these in abstract algebraic terms.

A little known essential
I am always surprised of how few physicists are aware of the existence of these handwritten notes. They are easy to read, concise, to the point, and make for both an excellent introduction to Quantum Mechanics and a text of reference. Fermi was notoriously a great teacher, and the fact that these notes are still handwritten and never edited actually add to them, making this a unique text. I still find myself going through it to check this formula or that derivation. When I have first learnt QM, three completely different books were dear to me: Dirac's, Landau's and this one by Fermi. Why would somebody learn the subject from anybody else?

Good as new.
The book was in excellent condition, although it took a month for its arrival (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). But the delay was a minor problem, and should I need, in the future, to acquire another book from this seller I will do so without hesitation.

bright physicist Fermi had cruel personality
He did atomic bomb very carefully, very carefully, likes he wrote his notes, such cute kid!

If only it were typeset.
I bought this book based on the good reviews here. Sigh! I can hardly read his writings. I agree with all reviewers that Fermi is an excellent physicist and assume that this is a good book. I wish someone typeset the book, which is less than 200 pages in human writings. Make it legible and it will be readable.

Marvellous piece of art
Although part of the book seemed (and still seem) undecipherable, each page I read takes me to investigate on some if not most of the equations. Just being able to read Fermi's notes for a quantum mechanics course is gold by itself.I'd recommend also Fermi's collection notes at the Chicago university website; fabulous.Last but not least, google for Murray Gell-man comments on Fermi's little notebook, eye-opening.

Very beautiful book
The book is very delightful for a person who's studying quantum mechanics because it contains the essencial arguments for reviewing your knowledge. Also it's written with Fermi's writing and it's funnier if you can study in something written by a so important person (in field).I'm a physics and I find it a very good book, but I want to underline that if you don't know quantum mechanics, this book is too synthetic. If you want a book for learning quantum mechanics I suggest the Cohen-Tannoudji and Fermi's one for remembering the most importan facts.
