great well made tank, gauge shows empty a little too prematurely
Seems like a well made tank and I love having the gauge, not sure why more tanks don't come with them. My only complaint is the gauge showed empty for quite awhile before the tank was really empty. So maybe the gauge doesn't do a great job on that last 10% or so. Looking at the picture it appears the gauge works off a float which would seem to explain the issue about an inaccurate measure once you get to that last bit.

Early review
Early review. Just received it. Parts are already rusty and some of the paper is scratched. Looks used already.

Great tank - gauge works really well
We now have four of these tanks - they are perfect for our use. We've been using them for a couple years now and have had many fills (at least 10 fills). The gauge works very well, because it uses a mechanical floating level that connects to the gauge and measures the actual height of liquid propane in the tank (unlike add-ons that guess based on pressure, which is not an accurate indicator until you are nearly empty). I always have a good accurate read of the fuel remaining, and always know when I'm running low. Even when filling the tanks you can watch the level work it's way up to the top (further proving it isn't pressure based). We fill our tanks at a filling station that charges by the volume of LPG and not by a fixed price per fill, and when the tank is reading almost empty the fill ends up being a nearly a true 20# of propane fill (about 4.5 gallons, which is just under 20 pounds).Otherwise - this is just a regular high quality 20# tank. Same fittings and size as all other regular tanks, and mounts just fine in our grills, mosquito magnets and on our dual-tank camper (which has hold down rods).Highly recommended! And you can't beat the free prime shipping...

Date on tank indicates it's a year old
Here in California tanks are refused refill if they are over 5 years old. This is dated mid 2016, so I already lost a year of its useful life.

A high quality tank and a no-brainer purchase
This is a high quality tank, hands-down, and a no-brainer purchase. The built-in fuel level gauge is accurate (a real gauge, with a float – similar to the large commercial tanks use). As a side-note buying your own tank is a smart move because you can never be sure what you are getting at your local convenience store or grocery exchange. Will it be under-filled? Will the valve leak or simply not work? Not worth the hassle. Grab this tank and take control of it right up front.Oh, and free Prime shipping, too. Can’t beat it.

Very sturdy
Very sturdy and having the gauge is useful even for filling. After re-purging it holds 4.6 gallons; that need reduced my rating by 1-star.

Best purchase I've made in a while
Best purchase I've made in a while. The tank came in excellent quality, only the label was scuffed up but that doesn't matter. Contrary to what another reviewer said, the valve for me at least measures accurately from 100% to 0%. Not 50%-0% like they claimed. I have a special hose going to my portable buddy heater that doesn't requre a fuel filter in my van. One fill up in this tank lasts me a whole month of nice toasty heat in the cold northwest. Never again will I buy those overpriced green camping canisters!

Propane leak and frosting over gas gauge will not stop
I want to give this item a minus star rating, but that option is not available. Tank stayed in box until ready to fill with propane on March 15. We went to switch out tanks and the gauge was frosted over. It also smelled like propane after connecting to grill.I believe there is either a faulty tank, gauge or valve. Can not return it now as it is full of propane......I guess we will continue to use the local Walmart for our propane. Now the only question is how do we dispose of this item that is still full of propane?
