Interesting collection, mostly 20th century. For both lovers of kimono, patterns and a quilting friend who also buys kimono, loved it and decided to purchase a copy!

Glorious book. The kimonos vary but are stunning. Wish I could really see them. The child in me wants to try them on. Who would reject silk and elaborate embroidery.

This is a stunningly well printed book. I purchased a wonderful kimono for display in my living room years ago. I found the design is quite rare, being one whole design over the entire kimono. There is one similar type design found in this book.

I love it

I really love this book. The cultural history outlined for each period is fascinating and the pictures are stunning. I collect kimono and obi and I have really enjoyed learning more about the time periods and how the economic and political environment influenced the industry. I have enjoyed it as a leisure read as well as a resource! Highly recommend it!
