13 yr old son LOVES them
I bought these for my 13 year old son, in 7th grade. He got a Heely craze last year and we bought some from a used site, but he wore those completely out and wanted some new ones for the new school year. He loves these!! They are simple looking so they match pretty much everything he wears to school and he can ride really, really well on them. Everywhere we go people comment on them. He has worn them to school with the heels in and didn't get in trouble - even when they saw him rolling. But, usually he pops the wheels out and carries them in his bookbag. The wheels are easy to pop in and out, but they don't slip out when you don't want them to. The shoes come with a tool that helps you take the wheels out. He wore them to Carowinds amusement park several times, and he can travel a lot faster and further than we can just by walking. I can't stress enough how much he loves them. We ordered a size 9 ,Mens because that's all they had available. His foot is 9.75" long, which according to Zappo's size chart, would be a men's 7.5 or 8. But I think that would have been too small for him. This size 9 is a little bit loose, but not loose enough that it slides up and down on his heel. I would say don't be afraid to go up half a size at least, especially if it's for someone who is still growing. My son has a younger friend who is in third grade and he loves his Heelys too. They're so much fun! And I think it's a good quality shoe. The tread on the bottom is really sturdy. In the pictures, keep in mind that he has worn them every day for about a month so they aren't perfectly clean and new anymore, and he's pretty rough with them and wears them out in the woods, etc. Hope this review is helpful to you! :)

If you grew a lot these might now work...
I loved the 6 days I had with the shoes but unfortunately they wore down quickly and exposed the inside of the shoe to the heel and are ruined. This happened over the course of a few days and I feel it's because I'm much heavier than I was as a child and taller. This made it harder to keep the heel at the right level on asphalt. My new adult girth of 220 was too much for the heels to handle and they were melting. So it's not the shoes fault it's just I believe the physics of grown men rolling around on 1 single wheel each shoe doesn't make sense. When I was little I could go over cracks with these and do all kinds of fast stuff but unless I'm at a menards or home depot where frankly I look ridiculous, I can't get a good speed going. So I'm returning them and getting roller blades. Thanks the shoe was great but they're not a good fit for me.

If you’re already checking Amazon for these then you’re the exact type of person who won’t regret it
As a young child I really wanted a pair of heelies when the company was in its prime. My parents didn’t think that would be a good purchase and our relationship hasn’t been the same since. So I, an 18 year old high school student, used my own money in an impulse buy on a particularly angsty day, to purchase this symbol of surmounting my childhood demons. So that’s what drove me to buy these and with that said, here’s what I thought: I love them. There’s definitely a learning curve but don’t get discouraged when it doesn’t come automatically. Evolution never planned for the perversion of nature that is putting wheels on your feel. So when you take that into account it doesn’t really take that much practice to get used to them. I feel like after a few weeks I’ve got an average grasp of how to use them and I can easily escape my feelies at a moments notice. If you want to use your heelies for anything other than escaping your feelies then I’m sure they work just fine but as I’ve never personally used them for anything else, I don’t feel qualified to speak to that. I do find that the build quality/design is solid, with the laces tied tight it might feel like they’re too loose but they’re actually fine and it doesn’t affect their use. Would not recommend wearing these as your primary pair of shoes. I wore them to school every day for a week and by Friday it hurt to walk. They have very little in the way of support and after wearing them long enough you can feel the hard patch above the place where the wheel fits. It hits your heel every time you step but it’s only noticeable on about day 4 of consecutive wear. Everyone who notices you wearing them will go “dude are you wearing heelies? Haha man that’s so dope; I remember when I used to have a pair” verbatim. Every. Time., Guaranteed. It’s really easy to pop the wheels in and out if you’ve got the tool with you and I’ve successfully used a hacksaw blade (long story) and now a screwdriver to remove them once I lost the “official” tool. They really are very versatile and so if it’s just for one or two days you can wear them out and spontaneously surprise everyone by putting your wheels in and rolling away in the span of 10 seconds. I got the all black pair which is kinda ugly but I didnt want a big logo to kill the element of surprise. They definitely blend in pretty well and if you color the logo black nobody will ever know until it’s far too late. As an added bonus: in order to fit the wheel housing the sole is an inch and a half thick. This could bump you up just enough to get on that one ride you’re too short for or give you juuuuust enough height to reach that pesky top shelf. You actually can’t tell the heel is that thick from the outside which is cool. 10/10 would recommend, this is one of the only purchases I’ve ever made that I didn’t regret once it arrived. They are exactly what I expected and I have no real complaints. The only issue that actually affected me is that since you need to tie them tight you can’t just leave them tied all the time and slip your feet into them when it’s time to go. The material inside the heel is kind of weak and I folded mine when I tried and it dug into my heel for a while but I realized I could just bend it back. If you untie your shoes every time you take them off (first of all look at you go, where do you get all that energy and motivation?) then this won’t be a problem for you but if you like to just push on your shoes get ready for a major lifestyle change. Again 10/10, I didn’t regret it and if you’re the kind of person who’s looking at heelies on amazon I think you’ve already proved you won’t either.

Pretty good, stylish, wheeled, with an acceptable interior
Let me just say that these are Heely's. and Heely's is not Sketchers. So you won't be finding very great Arch Support here. In return, you get one of the funniest shoes to wear out anywhere, because no one is expecting you to just go sliding around, since Heely's were "so 2006". The comfort is alright, better than the Voyagers. The toe box is cramped and even kinda sanded off part of my pinky toe's outer skin layer. No bleeding, but I needed to give it a break. These were definitely built for slim footed people. Other than that, they're pretty good, the wheels go for a while before you have to skate again, you can get a pad for arch support, and they look great.

The shoes are okay, not the most comfortable shoes but I didn't expect to go hiking in them. The one wheel however is buckled and wobbles when I ride on it. I did think of sending it back but after waiting and being delayed by the logistics company for nearly 3 weeks I decided I will take my loss and move on.
