Portable Microphone Studio Voice Booth Isolation Box

Creating recordings for eLearning modules with a decent microphone but I just couldn't eliminate the background white noise. This box totally took care of it. I like that it breaks down easily for storage too.

It is what it is: a cloth box lined with egg shell acoustic foam. That said, it would be a ideal tool for portable recording, especially for mic-ing a small amplifier on stage. I found it a bit awkward for my purpose of doing audio book narration---if your head is in a box, you cant see what you are narrating. If you know the words...as in song recording...the Portable Mic Studio would be fine.It is quite ingenious and light weight. It's not for everyone, but it makes a great addition to your recording tool arsenal for its low price.

Mic didn't fit without taking it off the stand and had it standing on the wire and leaning on the actual stand inside the box ...

This box is just what I expected and hoped for. It muffles extraneous noise and, I feel, my voice recording have a richer sound because of it.

First of all this product doesn't even work. It fails to block out any sound at all (Not even a little bit). The materials used are very cheap and flimsy; it won't last you any more than 3 weeks. Their customer service is awful! When I requested a refund and sent the item back, they only refunded me $0.01!! I most certainly payed more than a penny for this terrible product. So yea they basically stole from me but whatever.

I'm writing this review to warn you of what you're buying, since I don't want others to make the same mistake as me.I bought this as a temporary way to improve my audio since I'm going to be moving soon-ish, but the more I think about it, the more I feel ripped off. I mean it looks great and it works, but there's just one small problem that ruins the product for me.Pros:It improves sound quality (a bit, but far from 40 bucks worth of improvement if you ask me).It's relatively small (relative to a whole room, it barely fits on my desk with my monitor there).It's ideal if you (for whatever reason) can't soundproof a whole room or closet.You don't have to assemble anything.Cons:It's literally just a box with soundproof foam in it.Need I say more for the cons? Don't buy this. Buy some soundproof foam and a box instead. Cut the soundproof foam so it fits in the box, and slide it right in. If you make one yourself, it's cheaper, you'll be able to make it exactly the way you want it, and it will probably work just as good if not better. I unfortunately feel like I have to give it 2 stars since it does work, but I feel incredibly ripped off.

Works great. Foam doesn’t stay in place great but does the job.

This do much to dampen or silence background noise. For example, if someone is talking in the background or there is a TV on in another room you are better off turning the source of the noise off. So you will still need silence to do a recording but this definitely helps keep out light background noises, such as hard disk hum, or room reverberation. It definitely helps to keep your recordings more focused, clean, and dry for a more professional recording.
