Excellent Professional Pool Vac
The Pentair 222 Pro Vac is an outstanding product. When our Hayward Phantom Turbo automatic pool cleaner became damaged, we obtained a Pentair 222 to manually clean our 40k gallon pool until the Phantom was repaired. The Pentair 222 connects to your pool pole just like a brush or net, and also connects to a vacuum hose which you insert into one of your skimmers at the suction line. You manually vacuum the pool with this product and it works exactly as advertised. It does not brush the gunnite, it vacuums sediment such as sand, pine needles, small leaves and worms up from the bottom. You will still want to brush your pool as usual after vacuuming with this tool. This tool offers several advantages over the automatic pool cleaners: 1) you can clean a specific area of your pool quickly (a few minutes) as opposed to waiting for an automatic pool cleaner to randomly pass over the area (could take hours to cover a specific location); 2) the Pentair (plus a hose and pole) is much less expensive than the automatic cleaners -- by an order of magnitude. 3) no additional pump and plumbing is necessary other than your main system pump and skimmer; 4) even cleaning the entire bottom is quicker with the Pentair than an auto-vac since you simply cover the bottom systematically just like when you brush it (my pool takes about an hour to do), as opposed to waiting 6-8 hours for the auto-vac to randomly cover all of the areas; 5) The Pentair does not work against its own purpose by causing turbulence all around itself the way the trailing sweep hose does on an auto-vac; 6) Our Hayward model 6060 booster pump failed after 5 seasons and required replacement. Since this pump is only there to power the Phantom Turbo auto-vac, that was a $500 cost that would never be required if I only used the Pentair 222. 7) since the auto-vac requires an additional electric pump for power, the Pentair reduces your carbon footprint and your electric bill, probably saving several hundred dollars per season. All in all, had I understood the ease of vacuuming my pool with the Pentair 222, I would never have installed the auto-vac system in our pool at all when we had it built. I discovered this product when our pool maintenance company came out to replace our booster pump for the auto-vac and they used a Pentair 222 to manually clean the pool bottom during the pump replacement installation. The Pentair 222 is well-built -- with heavy-duty rubber, silicone, and stainless steel components throughout. Even if I had to replace this every season, it would be much less expensive than the auto-vac system, but I expect it will last for many seasons given the high quality materials and construction. Pentair also offers a smaller, 14" wide model that is even less expensive and might be a good value for smaller pools; the Pentair 222 is the larger, 22" wide model and is appropriate for larger pools -- those over, say, 20k gallons.

Has held up nicely 👍🏽
Fantastic! Its not as large as we needed but gets the job done! Wheels are adjustable, comes with adapter and replacement tubing for sweeping debris we gave used this two seasons and still haven’t had to change the tubing. Nice weight. Win -win!

Pretty much as promised
The Pentair Pro Vac arrived and works pretty much as promised. We’ve had it about a month now ... so my review is based on that. It appears to be quite durable (heavy, good construction, etc.). From an assembly perspective you essentially take it out of the box and connect it to a pole and the suction tube (both not supplied obviously) and go. There is an extra rubber strip you can install if the vac isn’t getting enough suction. We didn’t install as the suction seems fine. You can also adjust the wheels if it’s not getting enough suction. Again, we’re good so didn’t do so. That said, the instructions showing how to adjust the wheels make it look like quite a process. The only two drawbacks I would have for the Vac are (1) I wish there was some latching mechanisms between the suction hose and the vac. Right now it stays connected purely based on the suction from the tube holding the connection ... and maybe the tube being pushed in tightly. Net net - if you push the vac too quickly across the bottom of your pool the hose can come loose. Annoying but not the end of the world. (2) It’s heavy. Probably helps it stick to the bottom ... so probably by design ... but if you’ve got your kids doing it just note that lifting the vac up takes a little bit of work. Again ... not the end of the world. My final word of advice - you have to fill the suction hose with water each time you vacuum. If you just connect the hose to the Vac and to your skimmer you will suck in air that is in the hose and it won’t work. May be obvious to everyone reading this ... but would be nice to have called that out. It’s also a pain / one more step as you have to get the garden hose out, fill the tube, and then keep it below water as you put it into your skimmer. Summary - well constructed vac, good value for the money, delivers on what it says it is going to do. I’d purchase again.

Less effort to get the job done! High quality
This thing is like a Cadillac so smooth rolling on pool bottom, takes full suction without sticking to pool bottom, thought the width was going to be a problem but it cut at least a third off cleaning pool bottom time !Pricey but worth it!

A terrific improvement over older vacuum heads.
Wow, this is a terrific product. My old head broke and i needed a new one. This is a bit larger (22"), but because of the increased weight and the clever connection to the pole that lets you control head direction, it actually cuts my vacuuming time in half. The reason is both because of wider head and more efficient suction, but also because the weight and control lets me vacuum just as well on the pull stroke. With lighter heads, they would come off the bottom when pulling, but this head is heavy enough to keep working on the pull stroke, and with the easy ability for the pole to redirect the head, the 60,000 gal pool is clean in 15 minutes!

Better than a robot
This works much better than the robot I have. The robot didn't do a very good job cleaning the fine algae that accumulates on the walls and floor of the pool. It would suck it up but a lot of it would blow through the collection bag and make the pool cloudy before eventually settling back on the bottom. This cleaning head connected to the skimmer inlet does a much better job cleaning the bottom of the pool and it doesn't make the pool cloudy when you are doing it. It is weighted nicely and easy to guide around. The disadvantage to this is you can't really clean the walls with this as it won't stay tight on the wall. You also obviously have to clean your pool filter more often. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.

Well worth the money.
Fast and efficient pool vacuum head. I cut my vacuuming time by 2/3rds. Worked perfectly right out of the box; no adjustments needed.

heavier and wider than our previous one, and so much better. Easy to fit, use and store.

Limpia el suelo de la piscina sin remover la suciedad. Como es muy ancho, puedes limpiar en pocas pasadas regulando la aspiración
