It also has a clock which is nice in the morning
I'm going with 5 stars. A few issues that could maybe knock off a star, but overall, this heater does what a basic heater should do, with a clock and thermostat to boot, in the place it says it is designed for - the bathroom. It's a little more expensive than your ultra-basic box heater, but I got what I was looking for with the digital controls.I've had one of these for over 2 years now, in our master bath. The master bedroom, bath, and closet are at the side of the house and in the winter are several degrees colder than the rest of the house, so we bought this to supplement the heat in the master suite so the rest of the house wouldn't be overheated, and we didn't have to freeze in the bedroom. It has worked really well for that purpose. We have a convenient spot to place the heater where it is aiming the heated air toward the bathroom door into the bedroom, and set it around 75 degrees, and it brings the entire master suite up from about 68 deg or so. It also has a clock which is nice in the morning, and visible from the shower, so have avoided needing to get a separate clock for the bathroom. Now, just last week, after over 2 years of service 6-8 months of the year, it appears to have died - however, after a few days it revived. Reading other reviews here, this seems to be an overheating mode that it can enter, and unplugging and leaving it set for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few days will allow it to revive. That worked this time. Hopefully it continues reliable service for many years to come, but then I wouldn't be surprised if this is a sign of more overheats in the future (likely something in it is degrading, but I won't know for sure unless it acts up more). My Pros and Cons:* PRO: Heats well, does the basic job without any fuss. And heats things quick if used to heat up the bathroom quick in the morning, for example.* PRO: the digital theromostat and the clock are the top features for me. Set it and forget it, and if you need to adjust as the seasons change, you can just bump a degree or two* PRO: Not horribly loud - though not horribly quite either. I wouldn't want this in the living room so much, but it's fine where I have it in the bathroom, for the job I have it for.* PRO: built-in GFI protection in the plug for bathroom/kitchen/etc. usage. I've also read the element used is engineered to withstand a moist environment better than another model which is otherwise the same (i.e. to handle a steamy bathroom from showers, etc.). I cannot verify that beyond that mine is still working.* PRO/CON: Apparently it has overheat protection that is generally recoverable. But there is no way to realize that is what's happening - the device just appears to be dead. So try to remember this for 2 years after you buy it and this happens! :)* CON: Apparently (from other reviews) the timer function needs to be reset every day, it's not set on repeat, but one-time only. I don't use that function, so didn't factor into losing a star - but be aware if you are interested in this feature.* CON: It can be a little confusing to figure out how to set the clock vs. the timer, though the guide makes it clear* CON: It doesn't have switch-off protection if it tips over* CON: All the settings reset when unplugged or on power loss. I really hate resetting clocks after power loss. Can't everything in life be easy?

Finally, a space heater for the bathroom!!!!!!!!!
I get very cold in the bathroom even with the regular heat on. No space heater has been rated for bathroom use and I live in an apartment and could not install one of those wired bathroom heaters into the walls. I have been waiting for this item for decades and it's finally here and it does exactly what it says it does. So, if you want a heater for a bathroom or just an extra-heated bathroom, there is no doubt that you should buy this item - there's no alternative one out there and it works. The only two things that the heater is missing have to do with an off timer. You can program in the time, and program in the time that you want the heater to turn on. There is only one timer so you can't set a timer to have the heater go on more than once each 24 hour period. The problem is that if you use the "Stay On" mode, there is no off timer and you run the risk of forgetting to turn the heater off when leaving the bathroom and it could be left on all day in your home. Either a timer that has a specific off time or a set time to run (e.g., 1 hour) would be very useful and a good safety feature. The heater can be run in 3 modes - "Stay On," which runs continuously and is the setting that I like best or "Fan," or set Temperature. The temperature range is from 65 degrees to 85 degrees. The heater also comes with an easy mount that can be screwed to the wall and the heater can be hung on the mount through a loop on the back. This mount is easily removable, no more difficult than hanging a picture, and useful because the cord is not that long so it keeps the heater away from other used parts of the bathroom. The advantage of keeping the heater on the floor is that it heats the floor area better, which is nice when you step out of the shower.Update: Broke within a year but worked beautifully while it worked.

Great heater for a small space warms up a bathroom a good 10 -15 degrees in about 10 minutes See Update #2
Works well and the plug is worth any extra cost . I have a tile bathroom that was added onto my home that gets very cold in winter . Sadly I did not put heat strips in the floor but this little heater does a great job to give me comfort and I feel safer with the GFI plug even though I have proper outlets also . Love that you can use a timer and it has a thermostat though I wish it went lower then 65 .Update :2016 still going strong . I leave it on with the door to the bathroom closed set on 70 and run on full on when taking a shower then reset it to the temp after and I am always warm and comfortable . This has been a huge improvement . With the GFI safety switch , thermostat , clock on and off if you want this is the best heater in this price range hands down . I will definitely buy another I could not stand the bathroom in winter without it . Size is perfect and my bathroom is on the small size about 8 by 10 . I learned it was just better to make sure I keep the door closed and run it on 72 to keep the tile warm for economics rather then try to heat it up for each use or shower.Update lasted two years of winter full time use in bathroom . Fan went out . It was a good item that made our tile bathroom that can get very very cold tolerable in winter for anytime use . I did order another one . The safety plug , size and output is perfect . We turn it on when we shower and leave it on 74 all winter to keep the tile warm and our bill does not go up much ..it is worth it to us . Is a nice desk or table top fan in summer too . Took one star off because they seem to last only two -3 years on average . But we use it 24/7 all winter and part of fall andspring . It works well in our Van too when camping when we have power or fire up our little Honda generator much better then propane .UPDATE : This is my second one of these the latest started messing up on temp not shutting off automatically like the first . Wish I would not of tossed the first when it did that it still worked without the auto feature . I have not figured out why they do that . The temp probe comes out the back . Still a nice little heater though it uses 1500 watts . I could not stand how cold my bathroom would be without this . Works great in the camper van too and leaves space to be in either .UPDATE #2 These have a electronic component like some tvs and other items that goes bad . It says right on the bottom unplug for at least 30 minute and try again because this resets it and the memory . Often you push the time set by accident and this clears it . But I have had to do it 3 or 4 times and over night . I really need this heater and just had one do it again . The first one I foolishly thru out before doing it more then once . A week later sure enough I took it apart cleaned it looked for anything wrong . Found nothing and put it back together plugged it in for the 4th time and its been working great now for 3 days . My new one is already on the way . I just ordered one . I will be glad to have one as a backup and just for my camper too . Make sure you do the reset going as far as over night but at least leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes more then a few times before you give up . I have seen repair people do this with tv's and charge for a hour repair . Its how the electronics work . Lots of appliances are like this now . At least the new one was half price from the warehouse a return lol . Ps the power has been going out here for just like 20 seconds due to winter storms so I think that often triggers the problem . God Bless .
