utter garbage
This review comes after extensive use of the product and are based off my experience with it. In short this gun fails in all aspects of a controller. I tested this device for about 18 hours and am blown away at how bad this thing is. First of the left analog stick found in the fore-grip of the gun was a absolute nightmare to use. Typically you can move your analog stick on a standard controller in a 360 degree motion allowing for free movement of your character. With this device the left analog has a oval type cutting instead of a standard circle, because of this my character could not move at normal walking speeds and instead did a very slow paced walk most of the time. The L3 button wasn't functioning correctly, resulting in a inability to sprint and it took several (if not dozens of clicks) to even get the character to sprint. The next issue is with the connectivity of the device its self. Now I had no trouble connecting this to my ps3 and it was the most pleasing experience I had with the gun by far. However the issue is that the gun would temporarily lose sync and cause for me to move or look farther than I wanted. The button mapping is also an issue with a faced. If you have ever played a First Person Shooter, then there's no thought that you've gripped the controller hard when faced with an intense moment. The problem with this gun is that due to the button mapping it is very easy to accidently push the L2 or R2 button and unintentionally toss grenades or other devices. Final test was the Child Test. My brother and a group of his friends came over to play my ps4, when they saw the rifle they were instantly drawn to it and wanted to play it desperately. I hooked back up my ps3 and gave one of them the rifle and the others got standard PS3 controllers. After the match started all he could say was that it was the coolest thing he's seen, that quickly changed after playing about 3 minutes with it and asked for a standard controller as well. Eventually all of the children got a chance to play with and all of them had the same reaction. They said it was cool, but too difficult to use. When I asked them if they would want one they all said NO Granted I did not purchase this for my ps3 but for a project I was working on, but for its intended purpose. I would not recommend this for anyone I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM CTA DIGITAL AGAIN

Near Perfect VR Gun Controller--Coming from Sharpshooter
Was looking for a replacement of my PS Sharpshooter for my future VR setup and this is a huge upgrade. For now, I'm only testing this gun on PC so I can't speak to using it with PS3 games and how well it performs. Pros: - Appearance: Not to be shallow but this gun just looks awesome-it's modeled after the m4a1 rifle used by the military. Camo is cool but some might prefer black. -Easy-setup: Just plugged the USB dongle in PC and, using controller mapping software, the gun was up and running. -Move compatibility: Could be used on my PS3 with Move if I desired. -Fore-grip and stock: First time I've seen a fore-grip on a peripheral gun and it does ease prolonged handling when compared to the Sharpshooter and how its significantly more front heavy. -Buttons: Has all the buttons on a PS3 controller and an additional thumb-stick compared to the Sharpshooter. -Lightweight: Weighted both guns and the Force Elite is much lighter than the Sharpshooter (fully loaded). -Rumble: Gun mimics rumble of PS3 controller (albeit, kinda weak). -Handling: It's comfortable to hold and handle. -Army licensed: Can't remember Army ever doing this but it's cool that their involved. -Scope: Not at all useful for my VR setup but cool looking nonetheless. Cons: -Thumbstick: It's smooth compared to the rough surface of its controller counterpart. -Button placement: Alot has been commented about this but my hands adapted pretty fast to tight placement of the buttons. The only other issue is the thumbstick on the handle and how my thumb would constantly bump on the area right above the thumbstick. -Trigger: There's a little too much friction when pulling; Sharpshooter is smoother by comparison. -Price: at over $50, it's more expense than most of its competitors but, in my opinion, all of its features justify the price premium. -Iron Sight: This is Nitpicky, but CTA should have chosen the classic M4 ironsight (surprise Army didn't insist); it's removable so it's not a big problem. I was seriously considering this or the Top Shot Elite and I couldn't be more happy with my choice. It looks and handles wonderfully and I would recommend it to others who are in the same VR preparation as I am.

Great concept - Very poor button design pattern on trigger handle.... SMH
I would love to give this product a 5 for concept but the controls on this rifle feels weird. Mainly the handle controls. The rifle works great right out the box sync and was playing payday 2 and battlefield 3. The rifle is pretty well built to me mostly like your average toy gun. Now, what you all been waiting for I will start with my start 1 star for easy to startup, 2 rifle looks really cool, 3 concept is great. Now the worst part... I had to play the game one more time before finishing this section just to make sure. The damn gun handle has controls on the back of the gun. SMH doesn't feel good anymore because you keep pushing other buttons with your hand trying to get into the game. Look at the picture and imagine pulling the trigger and your palms hitting the back button. So disappointed on that design of the controls. Why would anybody think of putting the control here. It would of been so much better on the ammo cartridge. I knew it was over when I played the first game and felt the damn stick pointing out from the handle in my palm when squeezing the trigger. On top of that you have the buttons same location just a little further down. Totally didn't make no sense was very disappointed. They should stop production and redesign just this part would be fine with me. The handle should feel nature. The more I think about it I want to give this product 1-2 stars but the concept give some edge. I wouldn't recommended to anybody I know but go ahead see for yourself. If it was 19.99 okay but $49 I don't think so just because of the handle control are really weird. It looks cool before you buy it but once playing reality kicks in.

Could have been amazing, but still not quite good enough.
There is no doubt this game controller-rifle looks extremely cool and would love for it to have worked. But it did not.... Here is why: Positives: 1) Looks cool. 2) The concept is awesome. Negatives: 1) The controls are VERY poorly positions. The front handle has 2 buttons right on middle of handle, causing you to fire grenades or slash with knife when you do not want to. The other buttons are poorly placed on rifle handle and that causes mis-fires as well. Last thing you want is to fire a shot accidentally when you are outnumbered on a sniper mission due to rifle poor button placement! 2) Defective/poor quality control. It stopped working, despite all the layout problems, I wanted to keep using to see if I could get used to the controls, but item stopped working after 1 night playing for 20mins. 3) Does not work with all shooting games! :( Very few title can use this rifle. Overall, this is a great concept, but poor quality controls and poor button placement make it a challenge to play. IF you get a working unit, make sure to give it a few tries to see if you can handle button placement. It might be fun then.

What I think
I don't write reviews a lot but I am on this I am a big lover of games and technology and I will say this is amazing it works on all games I Thot it was weird wen I saw that there are 2 open holes one under the trigger and at the barrel I would think for a strap to hold the gun It did not have one but I had something just like one I put on and I must say it performs well just it's weird wen you you'd it then switch back to controller I just got fall out 3 for it I hope wen the game comes it works just as good as it did on my other games and gta5 but for first person shooter it can take some getung you's to after you do it's amazing it's good for all ages

Project DualShock4 & PS Move
Was looking for a at least life-like gun/rifle controller and came across this one. Well...shipment was fast due to the fact I am staying in Asia. My first one is dead upon arrival. Can't even switch on. Shipped back and ask for an replacement. Second one came quick as well. Yet to try it on Battlefield 4 and with PS Move. Wanted as much to use it for a project as all buttons are present just like a DualShock3, only missing some on DualShock4. Yes! If you are reading this, you got it right... gonna mode with a DualShock4 & PS Move as now PS3 can use DualShock4 as a bluetooth device controller.
