Disassembled: A Native Son on Janesville and General Motors - A Story of Grit, Race, Gender, and Wishful Thinking and What it Means For America Paperback – October 18, 2019

I purchased this book for a family member that lost his job at GM due to closure of the plant. It was bitter sweet but interesting reading material.

Overall this was a very good book. I expected more from Senator Cullen however dealing with how the state did not do more to save the plant. We just used billions to bribe a Fox-Conn plant to build here which is proving to be a real disaster. I knew many people who worked at GM, and were upper middle-class. Jobs like that don't happen very often and are worth saving. It wasn't just the people who worked at GM, but the whole of Janesville was greatly effected. We have a great work force here in WI and we need people in government who strive to emphasise this.

liked the way he put things, did not pull a punch.

Senator Cullen tells this American story with insight, grace and historic reverence.

I was beyond humbled Tim came to me for the cover of this book. He also added stories of the tavern I owned next to the old factory which is still in operation even though the plant closed back in 2008.
