Another brilliant solo outing from Charlotte Gainsborough. Her intimate delivery and beat driven musical arrangements are as deep as they are danceable.

A wonderful album. 'Rest' is a blissful serenade, with a synthesized, bluesy tone; hypnotic. I highly recommend.

There are 11 tracks here total time 48:34. If you don't know Charlotte Gainsbourg, she is an actress and singer, but this is her first album in 7 years. If you like Dream Pop, you will probably like this. Most of the songs require close listening to get the lyrics, but just listening is easy to do and requires no effort.Parlez vou Francais? Yes that would help, but since I don't speak or understand French I can't tell you what the songs she sings in French are about. They are nice to hear however.The 11th song Les Oxalis uses one of the old and very annoying tricks, you think the song has ended and you have what seems like a forever never ending silent close out. Then another song comes on. Why the long delay? It is an unpleasant nuisance which almost made me lower this to a 4 star rating. Why not a 10 second delay - why minutes of silence. Maybe the title explains it, but I don't get it. At least the song is the last one, and some people will probably shut down the cd before they ever get to it.But put this annoyance side. There is a lot of good music hear, and if you haven't heard it, you are missing out.
