Shure MVL Mobile Lavalier Microphone

Purchased this to record onto a Mevo. The Mevo utilizes an iPhone (or Android) as the control device for recording. So you plug the mic into the iPhone and that's how it all works. The sound the Shure MVL produces is very natural. It has a studio quality sound. And it produces no echo as my previous mic did (see comments on Rode mic below). The Shure MVL is perfect for my needs. So glad I purchased this mic! I had previously purchased a Rode smartLav+ mic. The problem with the Rode was echo. I tried lowering the mic gain, less echo, but echo was still there. So I purchased a Shure MVL mic. Sound on the Shure MVL is more natural sounding, and there is ZERO echo (using the exact same set up as I had used with the Rode mic). Maybe I got a bum Rode, don't know. Whatever the problem - the sound was unusable recording with the Mevo. The Shure MVL is a hands down winner. It's found a Shure spot in my video recording arsenal. ;-)

We have now purchased 6 of these to go with our DJI Mic kits. There aren't many options that work for DJI's first version mics and these had good reviews so we got our first set and then ordered more once we knew they sounded good and didn't have any issues with DJI. I had tried 2 other brand lav's and they either didn't work at all or would cut in and out randomly. Shure makes great audio equipment and these fall in line for quality with other products I have from them.

Careful--alert! Works great as a recording mic. Does not work via Bluetooth as a broadcast mic. Tried to use it through my phone (Bluetooth) then out to a speaker. The lag issue, not the mic's fault, made it unusable for this purpose.

I saw this mic reviewed in Videomaker and thought I would give it a try. Wow, really great quality, surprising. I have an android phone, so I had to find the right software to run it (they offer a IOS app). I used it both as a lavalier and as an interview mic (old back and forth) and it was perfect. What a great tool for an interviewer or reporter. You just plug it into your phone and you have high-quality, great fidelity audio you can send via email or social media. A podcast on the run, so to speak. BTW, the app I settled on is Easy Voice Recorder Pro, which was dirt cheap and very functional. I will be making great use of the Shure MVL.

Estética: Me gusta lo pequeño que es, su grosor con el filtro puesto sigue siendo menor a un pulgar del dedo, lo cual lo hace muy conveniente si no quieres tener el mic tan visible al público. Sonido: da una calidad de sonido bastante decente, yo lo uso para hacer videovlog, y últimamente lo puse a prueba dando capacitaciones vía Zoom y cumple su trabajo sin mayor contratiempo. Si debes dar charlas, webinarios, o algo relacionado por internet esté mic podría sacarte de apuro. Eso si, debes tener un separador de puertos mini jack (3.5mm) para poder usarlo y escuchar a las personas. Versatilidad: considero que es un micrófono que puede sacarte de muchos apuros, es fácil de usar. Puedes conectarlo a tu móvil por entrada 3.5mm o en caso de tener un iphone con su respectivo adaptador (económico). Ya si deseas dar un mayor salto de calidad puedes grabar usando una grabadora de mano. Precio: me parece un precio justo considerando su calidad y prestaciones, estuve observando y analizando otros mic de solapa por la plataforma y puede llegar a ser el doble o mucho más costosos por una calidad no tan superior. Aislamiento de sonido: si bien el mic disminuye mucho el sonido externo, todavía llega a filtrarse sonidos ambientales, no se si usandolo con una grabadora externa mejoraria ese apartado. Creo que de todo los apartados, esperaba más de este en ese sentido.

I bought this microphone to use for mobile voice recording and to use as a mic with a high end pair of headphones that does not have a built in microphone. The mic works well with my now aging Galaxy S6 and also works well with my laptop/desktop computers with an appropriate TRRS to TRS adapter. Pros: * Reasonably large dynamic range and plenty for recording voices * No battery required * Included windscreen is plenty good for regular indoor use * Cord length is just the right length Cons: * Price. I think there are competing products with equal sound quality for far less money. * Cord vibrations are easily picked up and cord is extremely thin/fragile * Included clip is too large to easily hide on clothing * Lower output signal requires a good sound card/recording device with pre-amp for good quality recordings * Rarely works with USB-C to 3.5mm adapters All in all, I have mixed feelings on whether I would recommend this lavalier mic or not. The sound quality can be fairly good if you have good equipment to feed it into, but expect to spend a decent amount to get great audio. It's too expensive for what it achieves in my opinion but it will do the job.

I am a church pastor who makes videos and livestreams services. This microphone has been a great addition to the equipment I use. For the most part I use the Mevo camera system and plug this mic into my IPhone and it provides great sound into the stream. My wife has also used this microphone for voiceovers on videos she made for work training and education.

Great mic, I love it. Overall really good build quality, great sound and easy to use with the free iOS software. I recommend to everybody over the Rhode lavalier mic.

This performs as expected - top quality and sounds great. One of the few Lav mics to work with my DJI Mic without causing interference.

Estaba buscando un micrófono lavalier de buena calidad pero que no sobrepasara de los 100€, pues bien, por muy poco casi compro el SmartLav Plus, pero, gracias a un amigo que vive en NY que me recomendó esta marca y, sobre todo, este modelo de micrófono para el móvil, ahora disfruto del mejor micrófono de corbata para mi Android. He realizado varias pruebas en diferentes situaciones, y en todas estas situaciones sale muy bien parado. Si ponéis Posonty en Google junto al nombre de este micrófono, podéis escuchar las pruebas de audio que he subido a Youtube. Si buscas un micrófono de buena calidad para realizar directo en Facebook o en Youtube, estás ante la mejor opción. A comparación del Rode, éste aisla mucho más el ruido.

Lo he utilizado para grabar voz en off para videos y el audio es espectacular. Si lo escuchas del celular posiblemente no se oiga muy limpio, pero una vez que lo escuchas en la PC o audífonos se escucha muy claro y limpio. No se alcanza a escuchar el ruido ambiente (tendría que estar muy muy muy alto para que se alcance a escuchar). Las personas que he grabado su audio desde el celular lo usan dentro de un bolsillo del pantalón y no se escuchan ruidos (golpes) en el audio por mover o tocar el cable. Lo uso con su aplicación Motiv Audio, grabando en formato WAV, ganancia 8.0dB. Satisfecho con los resultados.

I'm into video content creation and when it comes to getting a really good audio of a person speaking, it's not possible with a inbuilt mic. Agreed that there is zoom audio recorder but when it comes to just having a small mic which is really powerful. Really happy with the mic, using it with phone and camera and the audio quality is good for a Shure mic. Audio is good because it's omnidirectional, thus no extra audio and I agree that there is post production where things can be handled and this mic helps out as I already get a good quality audio so it makes the work in post lil bit easier. Now to the final point...the price, to be honest this is expensive but if you want to get that audio quality and can afford it then I recommend going for this, if not then there are brands like BOYA and Deity which gives lapel mics for as low as Rs.800 which are not bad.
